The Division 2

Hey Arbi, it's Kevin from Honda-Tech and MA. Not sure if you remember me.

You'll need to pre-load the game and it's about 43 gigs!

Anyways, I've yet to see a cheater. In all my time in TD1 DZ, I've come across glitchers but never cheaters/hackers.

Omg dude! That’s insane, I totally remember! Haven’t been on there for ages! Can’t believe you remembered me lol! Gotta add me on steam, uplay, origin and stuff. Message me!

The file size won’t be an issue, currently on a 450mb a sec connection :)

Gonna download it now, hopefully get a chance to play in a bit

So, downloaded in 11 minutes. ( love this fucking connection )

But, game wont boot up for me.

Opens up a windowed black box, my msi afterburner data shows up but nothing else. Oh and the division 2 menu mouse pointer thingy but all on a black screen with no sound. Dont know what the issue is. Ive rebooted uplay, same thing. Will restart my pc and see if that'll work. As of right now, cant even get into the game menu.

Nope, that did not work either. Officially can not get the game to load up.

( on latest nvidia drivers too )

Close MSI afterburner and you’ll be good to go.

Delta 3 disconnect error when I pass the deer ~60 seconds into it. Love it! Hope they get their shit together--TD1 has had a similar issue for me for the last few months when I tried to replay it as a refresher.

End game content was iffy. Sucks only having 3 classes to choose from when I really wanted to try out a maxed tech build (fully modded skills). I wasn't too fond of the turrets, seeker mines & drones all sucking a ton comparatively to TD1. I'm hoping that I won't be struggling with the skills throughout the game.

I'm not sure how to do it but any and all feedback like this on a beta...send it in!

game is crashing for me a bit. Crashed twice in the first 20 minutes of me playing.

looks like the driver keeps crashing. Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

guess I will getr the newest driver.

will say this.

Feels good to be back and the game does run beautifully and so far is silky smooth with maxed graphics @1080p

Weird, so I can’t run afterburner with the beta?

I’ll try it out in a bit and report, pretty annoying though.
You can't have the rivatuner overlay. You can still use MSI afterburner for your overclock but you will need to disable the on screen info. Programs like GeForce experience still work, that's how I monitor my fps in this game.

Why the fuck do you fall so slow.

Looks so goofy as you gently flutter towards the ground.

funny I wanted to post about this as well. Lots of things in this game seem VERY slow. Div 1 seemed so fast.

The jump down with ctrl key mechanism seems buggy. I had a hard time finding the right spot to jump down stairs, containers, elevators etc..

First thing I did was swap the Ctrl and space bar. Was really bothering me that crouch/cover was space and jumping up/down was Ctrl lol.

i'm going to stop playing beta already. I seriously don't want to spend the time to ruin the start of the game and have to play stuff all over again.

You just have to clear the two main missions, up to lvl 4-5 to get the lvl 30 end game stuff. They give you 3 characters to choose from at the select screen.

I had fun with the Beta even though it was tough for me at the end of it. I had 2 crashes earlier today where my screen just froze. Couldn't even Alt Tab to close out the game. Had to manually restart the PC. There were also a lot of audio bugs where weapon sounds wouldn't work. And where it seemed like the entire audio of the game would completely go away for a few minutes.

I want to say I hope this is not representative of the final game but I'd be lying if I thought every one of these issues will be fixed in 5 weeks. Which is a little disheartening because I thought Massive would have this game in a more polished state, seeing the myriad problems Division 1 had when it launched. Just way too many technical issues right now.

I'll still be playing it when it gets released, but my enthusiasm has tempered a wee bit.

There were times I would lose portions of the audio altogether, like reload animations or firing a certain weapon. Other times when I fired a specific weapon, ALL the audio would speed up and NPC's sounded like they were breathing helium and on their 15th cup of coffee. If more than 3 people in the area had Drones up, the audio would start to sound like a bunch of explosions going off on top of you. The VOIP especially was bad. We used Discord the whole time.

Division 1 had 5 years of development; D2 has had 2. Many assets were in place already, allowing for a shorter dev time, but over-all, the game is still being shoe-horned into a much smaller release window. I'm not excited either, because besides the bugs, I see a myriad of balance issues that will likely make for a roller coaster of a first year (much like D1). Hopefully not, but just reading the Feedback forums, people are all over the place, and if Massive / Ubi decide to try and please everyone, the game will go split personality before it will get refined (again, much like D1). Pointless speculation really, but having an optimistic caution may alleviate some inevitable frustration

Personally I think the DZ has made some steps in the right direction... and some steps backwards. I think small DZ's bring with them inherent issues that will make them less appealing to the PvE Farmers like me. PvP'ers should love them, they can get to any extraction before the loot escapes, unless they shorten the extraction time. Shock ammo guarantees a kill and needs to be removed from PvP, and its effect shortened in PvE. I think the Settlement building mechanic is a nice add and I like what they are trying to do. But I think it will likely get grindy and tedious as we progress and take over all the Outposts and Check points of each new region. Running out and collecting all the same resources, unless they mix it up some how, will likely become a hated activity. Particularly in end game when Black Tusk continuously undoes all the work we spent the campaign accomplishing. If it is tempered and paced, then it could be fun. If it is too frequent, it will become another Fallout meme.

Anyway, I think this will be a great game, in time. At launch I think the campaign will be addicting and fun, and by end game we'll all be complaining as much as we were after D1's launch... just about different things.

Just finally got a chance to play a bit, got past the theater mission and rescued that woman's daughter. So far the game is fun, enemies feel way less bullet spongie and it's more tactical feeling for me. Had 0 crashes or issues but I only played for an hour or two.

There are still several hours left of the Beta, but I think I'm done. This is where I ended my level 7 (beta level cap), randomly generated dude. I got a purple Shotgun from a Key Chest, but couldn't get it extracted. Today was apparently Rogue day, because they were out in force, including the hackers testing their tools. It was irritating to get one shot by guys with more damage and armor at level 7 than the max level characters they let us try out End Game with, but I'm glad it happened now. Hopefully the data will help keep it out of the main game.

Even with half a dozen blue weapons, I still used the green LMG most of the time. I typically don't care for LMG's, but once you start facing Elites and Named enemies, all that armor almost requires sustained damage. I saw some guys doing alright with Shotguns and Sniper rifles too, provided you could land the headshots. Still, trying to keep 4 stun baton Rushers at bay while the Engineer is honing in on you with his incendiary RC truck and the Heavy is unloading his minigun at you... you dont' find much time for reloading. This really isn't Division 1 when it comes to DZ and End game. You have to use cover, face tanking will get you killed. You need to pay attention to your surroundings, because enemies will spawn from the back of delivery trucks, doors you thought were just window dressing, and around corners that were clear a second ago when you came around them. I don't know how many times I was taking cover behind a railing only to have the Boss and two Elites come out a door right behind me. Or walk in or out of a garage and not see a mob because of the "eyes adjusting to the light" effect. I'm sure much of this will get addressed at some point, but probably only the little stuff by launch.

This game has its bugs, glitches and balance issues... but I had SO MUCH FUN!! It is going to be hard to wait a month for release. I just want to play more Division 2 now. Good thing Metro Exodus comes out this week to help keep me occupied.

Do the female models look any better or did they stick with the generic bland looking women?

They looked a little better.

I like the sniper class at end game the best. Then the survivalist with the medical seeker mines. Explosives dude is meh, at least the loadout they gave you sucked. The artillery turret he has is a neat idea but kind of a pain to deal with. I did like the sniper's drone pulse/scanner skill. A good way to scout ahead with manual targeting controls and marks all targets it sees. I agree that you can't face tank much at end game, at least not with the gear they gave you. I got lucky on my last run with the artillery class, a High end FAL dropped that was 50 rounds of extended mag full auto goodness. No more FAL 3 shot burst nonsense. The weapon classes seem to be all over the place compared to D1 though. An M16 that is a rifle but full auto while there are rifles that are semi auto vs assault weapons that are full auto.

I had no major bugs or crashes over 8 or so hours of gameplay. The little sound bugs, animation issues, AI stuck in walls and the damn bugged jump down mechanic are annoying though. I had to spend 30 seconds trying to jump down the elevator shaft on the last section of the end game mission vs the tusks.

Roughly the same as D1, they were passable. It seems difficult for any game that lets you build your character to have good avatars. Mass Effect was a great example of this. The default character looked good, but the custom ones looked like smudged playdough.

In-game character Agent Kelso looks a lot more attractive than Lau (voice actress is a bombshell though...) IMHO.

The latest nVidia driver seems to has an issue - clean install (Titan RTX) with latest nvidia driver worked for me.

This happens after you have access to the White House, so it gave you credit for the mission. All the other 'normal' doors are unlocked however, if this happens to anyone else, there are doors just to the left and right of that entrance that will be open.
I tried finding the way out but if i tried to go back and go around the walls it said I was out of the mission area.....its all good though i just ran through it again on a new character. I didn't play much after that, I know i like the game already and i was in on the Alpha test a few months back. I'm not a huge Dark Zone guy so the PvE is where its at for me.

I like how at the start he says for PvE that it seemed all weapons were viable now.... which was not my experience for most of it. Then says that he thinks snipers will take the lead given the longer time to kill factor. The only mods I used were magazine capacity or if I wanted an acog scope on a non sniper weapon that could serve as one in a pinch.

Did you agree with him that snipers were pretty OP? I typically use snipers myself more than other weapons but hopefully come OB it'll be straightened out somehow. Makes me want to use sniper rifles less if I know they're absolutely meta and everyone else is using them.

They were certainly good but I think that is because of the TTK and that other guns and specs were just not well tuned. Just running around on the streets clearing sub zones and what not, I was constantly running out of ammo with full auto guns, even with 350+ rounds of ammo. When I got a semi-auto "sniper" type gun, I had far fewer ammo problems because the red shirts would die in 2-4 shots instead of half a mag or a full mag dump.

It doesn't help that they still have the dumb design that a sub machine gun like the Vectors are starting with 19 round mags when they should be 30+ up to 60+ given the damage needed to kill the basic red shirt guys let alone purples or elites.

I kinda want this game because basically I liked Ghost Recon Wildlands alot but unwilling to put the time in due to my backlog.

Did you ever play the first Division?

As someone who also like GRW a lot (and I know we both have been in that thread)...and also someone who played the first Division: If you have NOT played Division before then I want to halt you on the idea that you're getting GRW's close cousin just so you wouldn't go in with the wrong expectations.

Have to agree with this. Having played and enjoyed both games, they are not the same genre and do not play the same. I would still recommend both, but for different reasons. Division 1 has a ton of content and is pretty inexpensive these days, so it would be fairly painless to sample before picking up Division 2, which I would encourage doing prior to plunking down new AAA title money.
