The Division 2

Coming from someone that like the first one a lot I'm still enjoying this franchise. I played only until the theatre but thats because I messed around the whole areas looking for loot and enemies to shoot. I cant go back to the first one now, so thats a good thing. The issues I've experienced have been few, black screen with osd overlays and one disconnect but I was placed back where I was without loss of progress. Im at work now just wanting to go back play more.

this beta is not really blowing me away...it's definitely more of the same so fans of D1 should enjoy it but the DC setting is not as interesting...the world doesn't feel as dynamic...and the graphics are a noticeable step down...I'm playing at 1440p DX12

Anyone needing an invite for beta? I have a few - if you have Uplay send me your tag. First come first served.

Only played through the first mission after getting to the theater before I got a disconnect. Felt alright.. basically Div1 on a new map and some UI improvements so far. Looking forward to it, however.

just a quick shot, game looks pretty good at times. my first impression is it looks more grainy than the first game. almost as if there is a film grain effect that can't be turned off. it's fun in the same vein that The Division 1 is, i'll play the crap out of this.

Just hope the fix the cheats and wall hacks. nothing worse than playing SuperFarmer in the DZ.

My friends & I had a blast playing it last night despite the boot back to main menu multiple times. If anyone wants to add me I'm CrimsonKnight13 on Uplay. One warning is that I play usually at night on Korean Standard Time (GMT+9).

The DX12 renderer is still quite buggy from Alpha. I get cruddy CtDs & lag at login. DX11 is what I'll be sticking with just like I did with TD1.

Server Maintenance is taking place right now. Hopefully we will see an end (or at least drastic reduction) of Delta Errors and the like. After a couple hours of playing I was getting disconnected anywhere from 15 seconds apart, up to about 5 minutes apart. It was frustrating.

Apart from that I am enjoying the game. After figuring out I can open the map and turn off the "Agent needs your help" notifications, the game got a lot more engaging for me. The world is much more dense this time around, with more stuff to find. Crafting Materials & Ally Resource gathering can get tedious, but they give you decent amounts so at least it builds quick. I've been deconstructing everything, so I had some materials to craft some Blue gear after crafting was unlocked. I'm still clearing the map and unlocking Perks. At some point I'm going to go check out the DZ (haven't unlocked it yet) and see how it has changed. I'm concerned the smaller DZ's will make it nearly impossible to extract without getting Rogued, but we'll see. Maybe the normalization and timed medkits will make it less frustrating.

Tried to put some time in last night but after 5-6 disconnects i gave up and will wait for a patch

Ubisoft advises you restart The Division 2 beta "every two to three hours" to avoid crashing

"We are aware of an issue where your game client will crash after an extended gameplay session," Ubisoft wrote. "To circumvent this, we recommend that you restart your game client every two to three hours..."Secondly, on all platforms, if you are outside the game and receive a game invite from a friend within the game, your client will crash at launch. To work around this problem, make sure to start the game first and join group directly from inside the game."...

Played it for about 2 hours last night. I barely got anywhere because of the disconnects. At one point i had to delete my character because i had just finished doing the white house mission and got DCed. When i logged back in the wall was built and i could get into the fight to head to the white house even though i had completed the mission. That was the only annoying part. After that i was able to create a new char and get all the way through to the theater with no problems and then i got off for the night.

I played the crap out of D1......this will probably be no different. Loads of fun and i must say the extra abilities and such are a welcome improvement. Can't wait!!

I'm not going to spend any more time in the beta either because of some disconnects and frankly... why bother since none of that effort will port over anyways? ;) The disconnect happened for me the first time maybe a half hour in. Second time... hmmm maybe an hour? Messed around a little bit more and then decided that was good enough for me. :)

I definitely got enough time into it to know past any doubt that I will enjoy it at least as much as D1 although I will say I'm not sure how I feel about this settings vs NYC in the first game. Too early to tell and obviously haven't seen nearly all of it. Jury is out.

This happens after you have access to the White House, so it gave you credit for the mission. All the other 'normal' doors are unlocked however, if this happens to anyone else, there are doors just to the left and right of that entrance that will be open.

"Agent in need of backup!" over and over. It's so damn annoying.

anyway to turn it off still and have an open group?

I loved the hell out of TD1 but it just seemed like they wrecked the hell out of it as time went on. Continual build breaking, cheats, glitches. it eventually became too much. Seems like a lot of that remains. I hope they can figure things out and make a solid product.

Saw an email from Ubisoft saying endgame missions are now available in the beta (or will be.) So we all can get a taste of what maxed out characters with different specialties are like.

So far I've had a handful of disconnects but overall very happy with it. I felt like the controls were tight and I was making some pretty darned good shots. The bullet sponging seems a little bit more...refined?

It's telling that I want to keep playing even though it's only a beta.

enemies are still bullet sponges but the gunplay is improved so it feels a bit better

Grats on the House. I felt lucky getting a green AK on the first mission/rescue. Vector's still suck especially with 19 round mags. I also really miss pulse and triple seeker mines. The healer drone has potential though.

Also, is there a ammo resupply in the WH?

19 rounds? seriously? Bleh. The Mp7 has 20 rounds and you blow through a mag so quickly. I miss pulse too, never realized how much I relied on it until I played the beta.

When you enter a safe area, your ammo and armor are automatically refilled. Look on the lower left corner and it will tell you. Speaking of which, they need to make the font much bigger too.

Thank you

Completed the Jefferson invaded mission and I got a House/MPX lol. The Black Tusks are tough motherfuckers, they remind me of TD1's LMB.

What level are you here? I'm assuming this is after they unlocked end game stuff? I have only been able to get about 7 hours in, at level 7, and only seeing blue gear on occasion. How exactly did you unlock "end game"? I was booted for today's server update before I got around to looking into it.

So far I'm enjoying the open world for the most part. I vehemently hate the new weapon attachment system, it feels more damaging than helpful, so I will likely not even bother with it if left as is. I love the audio upgrades and the world over all. New York in the snow was creepy and all, but all the greenery in this game is so much more refreshing. It still has its atmosphere of isolation and creepiness in some areas (usually the ones worth exploring), but this region has a "the country is on the mend" feel that goes well with the story.

I’d like to know as well. I’m also level 7 and I’m gaining +0xp for all activities now, or at least that’s what’s shown on the screen.

Level 30 Gear score 332

After you complete the Jefferson mission, the game unlocks the 3 characters with their own specialization and weapon, i.e. demo, sniper, and the one with the crossbow.

In the menu screen before you log in, press R to scroll through the other 3 toons. I've only used the demo guy so far but I'll tell you, that MGL grenade launcher is a hoot to shoot.

Edit: You are also confined to re-playing the Jefferson mission but fight the Black Tusks instead of the True Sons/Hyenas.

Thank you. That mission is all I have left to do, but I was trying to gather enough crafting materials to go make all lvl 7 blue gear before I tried it. I was working on the second to last side mission when I was Delta'd out and they started today's server maintenance. I have obligations tomorrow, so I don't know if I'll get more than a couple hours in before time expires on the Beta, but we'll see. Over-all I have some concerns, but I'm excited for the game. I think we will be in for a balancing roller-coaster, but that's fairly normal for this genre.

Put in a little time with the beta today. The menus are a convoluted pain in the ass. I don't remember them being this bad in the first one, but then I played that on PS4 so I can't compare versions.

Also I hope they aren't done with optimizations, because it don't run so good even when it ugly

Just got the email for the invite to the private beta.

Says to open Uplay and it’ll be under my games already without any additional steps?

Will check it out later when I’m home

yup. same with me. got the invite and just played a bit.

I seriously doubt it. I played 1200 hours in the first one, but I'm not seeing it. They required video recordings in the first one just to submit a complaint.

Hey Arbi, it's Kevin from Honda-Tech and MA. Not sure if you remember me.

You'll need to pre-load the game and it's about 43 gigs!

Anyways, I've yet to see a cheater. In all my time in TD1 DZ, I've come across glitchers but never cheaters/hackers.

Uh, apparently you didn't play when it was first released. While I didn't purchase it at release, this game was infamous on release(I didn't start playing till end of 1.4). I have 4 friends who bought it on release, it soured 2 of them. I occasionally run into them. Getting shot through buildings and walls is not fun. Getting followed across the map is also not fun. Note, I occasionally ran into them while I was still active in Division.
