I would hope $100 is the new 1050ti price if Nvidia plans to continue to offer it alongside their 2000 series lineup. $140-$200 for GTX 770 performance is getting quite old.

Not at all. I'm excited to see what 7nm will do for small die sized GPUs that will go on low profile graphics cards. I have a low profile only PC begging for an upgrade higher than an RX 560 or GTX 1050ti.
