RTX Titan Won't Install?

That turn around time estimate sucks...hope they don't keep you waiting too long and really hope you don't get a refurb as a replacement.

That sucks man. It seems the quality of Nvidia's RMA service has diminished over time. I was impressed when I read Kyle received cross shipping when he reached out about his defective card. Unfortunately I was not afforded such quality service and had to wait for Nvidia to receive my card before they shipped out a replacement, of course I got an overnight label for the return and received an overnight replacement. Now it seems they have downgraded to ground shipping. Really hope your turn around isn't too long, but at least other [H] members know what to expect if/when they have to RMA one of these newer cards.

I actually had already installed EK waterblock before the card went belly up, so it really sucked. Luckily I had QDs installed so pulling the card wasn't as painful as it could have been.

When installing waterblocks on these bad boys please use QDs because you never know when you'll need to send it back.

15 day turnaround time and ground shipping on a dead $2400 product... and nVidia thinks they are the next Apple? When Apple releases a product, it just works.

I'm seriously appalled at this company for how they treat their paying customers. They had better hope nobody catches up to them in the performance arena. If AMD or Intel ever compete on the high end, nVidia can kiss my business goodbye. I suspect I'm far from alone with that sentiment.

Oh ya....I had QD's on my existing titan.....thank god. It made the switching back and forth during the troubleshoot a lot less painful.

Ya. I've been buying Intel for as long as I can remember.....I can't even remember at this point the last time I had a Radeon in my system. But you are right if someone else ever gets their act together I'll be switching for sure. Seems every generation without competitions they get worse and worse.

Those are extensions, though. You still need the cables that come with the power supply.

One of those fancy-schmancy custom sleeved sets that Cablemod et al sell is about the only way I know of to completely eliminate the original cables on modular power supplies. I guess there must be cheaper off the rack alternatives, but my local Fry's definitely doesn't carry them.

Nice work! Shame you had to raise a little hell to get the service you should have gotten to begin with.
 
Have a spare hard drive around? Try a fresh install to see if you have a bad card or not
 
I'd install Linux Mint 19.1 via the onboard VGA, then once installed it will offer you a Nvidia driver....install that, power down, replug the cable to Nvidia GPU, boot to Bios and switch to PCIe GPU init and try your luck in Linux.

Might still be a Windows glitch
 
I've just recently RMA'd a Titan RTX myself and the service was very good. It took less than a week from the time I shipped the card out to the time I had a brand new one back with me, and I'm in Canada and had to ship to San Jose. I got an overnight label from them right away and they shipped via overnight service. Maybe they do it differently for US customers.

Ya they gave me ground till I complained, and then sent me a label for overnight. *shrugs* here's hoping the new card works.
 
im sitting here wanting to purchase a 2080ti or even a titan rtx, but im so discouraged cause all the rma'ing going on with this series...... thinking i will skip this generation and wait till next year or whenever the replacement for a 2080ti comes out and hope "quality" improves... in the mean time, my titanXP is doing just fine!
 
LOL I guess Nvidia getting their sh*t pushed in, in the markets has made them even cheaper. They aren't overnighting a new card...its coming via Fedex Saver........last time I buy a card direct from them.
 
Update replacement card finally got here.....Nvidia's RMA process is a bag of dicks. And it appears to work in the old system, its at least got the drivers installed and booted into hi rez. Now to pull the whole thing apart and rebuild the computer with the 9900k crap.
