2019 Best value card as of today

570/580 getting my vote. From there it’s a long jump from <$200 to >$300 where price/performance isn’t as prevalent.

I am about to drop my 2 codes and the card RX 570 8Gb Red Dragon will end up costing me $49 if the games cost $50 apiece .. also I believe it to be the RX 580 2048 SP if one wanted to try it .

From the written review that goes with the video I linked earlier:

well, if that chart is correct then i got my MSI 1080 at $340. so I am around $3 ish for my VIDEO CARD..near the Top of the Bang for buck List...WOOT ! !

RX 570, 580 without doubt best bang for the buck. But you cant compare them to the 2060, since that is MUCH higher performance. Its like comparing RX570, 580 to Vega 64 and asking what is best bang for buck.

I bought my 1060 6GB for about $150 used. Works great. No issues.
That's what I've been using for years as I bought it for $300, brand new, a few days after release and haven't felt any compelling reason to upgrade as I'm still running a 1080p monitor. In fact, lately, I've been going thru and playing my backlog of games like ME:A and DA:I and a 1060 just burns thru those no problem with solid 60 fps at 1080p and even with quality settings to their highest.

ME:A is just a bit of a grind to get thru because the story is really generic and the bugs are as bad as jokes say.

Used 1070. Can pick one up for less than 250 and still get great performance and 8gb memory.

i dont really buy lowend cards anymore im not a good judge of value on that scale. I consider 4k ultra settings as want and 2k ultra as must. If i were to buy a new card right this moment it would the gigabyte rtx2080 thats right at $630. i suspect in about 2 months $600 would the going rate fir radeon vii rtx2080. bested used valley is zotac 1080ti amp if you can find it under 600. its the fastest 1080TI you can buy and is faster than an rtx2080. new midrange is really tough with the sales going on I guess Id grudging go with a rx590/gtx1060. used wise Gtx1080 is well priced at sub-$300 here on hardforums. budget build new id got rx580 budget build used gtx980 theyre at sub160 here on hardforums.

Given Intel released CPU's without iGPU that costs as much as models with iGPU it makes getting Intel processor with GPU the best value today as it is basically free and uses very little power and do not hog up PCI-E slot :)

Echo-ing others here, longevity is just as important as price/performance at the time of purchase. I got a GTX 1080 ti on launch day for $699 near-on two years ago and it's still near top of the heap in performance with no real improvement in this category likely for another 6 months. I haven't had a card as my primary driver this long since my 9700 pro.

If I was buying the absolute best price/performance now, I'd honestly be looking at a used (or remaining stock saile) of 1070 ti/1080/1080 ti or Vega 56/64, depending on your needs. Never before have we seen a previous gen of cards come so close in performance to new gen.

RTX 2060 is a reasonable buy for the performance, but I'd be wary of getting a card with only 6GB VRAM for long-term use. It's a bit like GTX 780 ti was in that sense (which only had 3GB VRAM): borderline fine on release, but the lack of VRAM became its downfall only a few months after its release.

Just picked up an RTX 2060.
While I could have jumped ship to the RX580, $200 for essentially the same performance as my 970 didn't really appeal to me (the fact that I'm no fan of ATI/AMD for video cards also biases me, dumb or not).
The RX Vega 64 was just outside of my price range (and my ATI/AMD bias).
Used cards, locally, are slim pickings.
I quite simply don't trust EBay, let alone buying a used card off EBay (Been royally fucked over multiple times on the platform and won't spend money there anymore).

RX 580 is 980 performance. It's faster than a 1060 6gb. But a 2060 is for sure faster than both

For me I'm happy at about 75+ frames per second.

Right now I've got rigs running a variety of cards: my heavy duty rig is 2x Titan Xp (in SLI), The Titans used to run on a 4K screen (Crossover 404K) and were ok - just enough to get the job done but I have since downsized to a 34" Alienware 3440x1440 I can get the fps up to a good level for most / all of my apps.

Whether it's a good deal / best value depends upon the apps you are running and the frames per second you are targeting and at what cost you are willing to pay that can accomplish those things.

Opinion: If you can pick up a 1070 for $200 or so you are gold. If not, a 1060 for around $100 is a great value. I've run into a few deals like this and passed. I regret passing on some ...

RX 580 8GB for $200 or less is a steal right now.
If you need more performance Vega56/RTX2060 for 1440P
