Earlier this week, an associate with EB Games claimed the Australian game retailer was pulling physical copies of Fallout 76 from shelves, which fueled rumors of the poorly reviewed title going free-to-play. One fan threatened he’d want his money back because it’d be a “slap to the face,” to which Bethesda replied, “There is no truth to this rumor.” Nevertheless, critics are convinced it is inevitable and will serve as one of the game’s few welcome updates.

Bethesda itself stated "there is no truth to this rumor," while Australian store EB Games confirmed it still planned on supporting the boxed edition of the game both in-store and online. “This information is categorically incorrect. EB Games will continue to support Fallout 76 both brand new and preowned, and it remains an active product through both our stores and website. Customers can now pick up the EB Exclusive Tricentennial Edition for $79.95.”

they will say it wont but you can bet your bottom dollar it will

Unless they find way to. Monitize it somehow, I'm expecting them not to make it F2P. I would be really pissed if it did. Like, that would be game over from me. No more Bethesda purchases.

thats why they were being pulled from the shelves.
to make room for the "give us more money for stupid stuff"

ty bethesda for your commitment to keeping me entertained for yet another couple months while you screw up whatever this tricentennial edition is.

Doesn't matter to me as I'm not a multiplayer type dude, so wouldn't play it anyway. I wouldn't call myself much of a Fallout fan to begin with. Played them all in the past but have nothing but tedious memories with them. Sort of like tough work you had to do on something that you hope you never have to do again. Would never play any of them again (and I still have quite a few what I would call older games still installed that I still play).

So they going to make it even worse making it f2p? The MT and stuff is atrocious as it is.

If it goes F2P then I'll give it a shot. Otherwise, FUFO76.

If you aren't there already with the state of FO76 I don't know what to say.

Its a wonderful game. I dunno, you would rather echo your silly meme, than try a wonderful game. Its all good, fools abound. ;)

It's good that you enjoy it, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how fps online games like fallout 76 became popular and that they cost $60. MMOs are not what they used to be and there are plenty of fun free to play (pay to win, or grind for a lifetime) mmos out there that are great. Fallout 76 should have followed suit and the shit storm would have been next to zero and they would have made bank.
