Crucial MX500 2TB 3D NAND - $209.99 Amazon

Hell yeah! Just canceled my backorder from B&H for 1TB Samsung 860 Evo's @ $127.99 each and grab 4 of these instead! Note that there is a limit of 2 per customer so you'll have to use multiple accounts if you want to purchase more than 2.

I've been waiting 2 months for my $280 2TB Samsung 860 EVO to be sent by Dell, I don't think they have any intentions of sending it. Every 2 weeks they delay it another 2 weeks. Too bad I missed this MX500 deal, sigh.

If they wait long enough NAND prices will be low enough or possibly enough people will cancel..

I paid almost that price for a 1TB MX500 earlier this year. Good to see these coming down in price. Sadly I don't really need one anymore as I have two 1TB MX500s.

Some good SSD & SD card deals but nothing good for Nvidia GPUs. Kind of expected though.

Good price on the MX500.

I'm waiting for Samsung 4 bit SSDs to hit so I can buy 4TB for that same $200. :) But the prices are trending in the right direction for SSDs. Soon HDs will only be used for massive server storage.

But I got my own 6TB server grade hard drive to store all my videos and stuff already. LOL. Yes, I'm aware they can get up to 12 TB now. But I don't have THAT much junk I need to store yet!

Currently unavailable.
We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock.

I ordered one when it was out of stock. I should be receiving it on December 6th.

What's the best deal on a 500ish GB SSD or larger hybrid drive right now?

500 GB MX500 for $64.99 is pretty decent.

I wouldn't bother with hybrid drives anymore. SSDs are significantly faster and relatively cheap these days.

You can also go for the Sandisk 1 TB for just 119.99 on Amazon.

They continue to offer the drive. Are they filling later (more expensive) orders?

Dell dicked me over on some Xbox Live gift cards ($500 of them) that I had planned to use for hardware LAST Black Friday. They put them in another customer's digital locker first by accident (for WEEKS), then instead of issuing new ones to me they "moved them over". Naturally they were already ghost by that time.

I am a stubborn bastard and fought them .. for 10-11 months. I finally got my money back just recently. Fuck those guys.

(And while I'm ranting, fuck Citi too. Once Dell finally did transfer the money back to me, Citi tried to keep it. In fact they also put a stain on my credit report for disputing the transaction after Citi had considered it resolved.. and by resolved I mean "sorry customer we sided with Dell on this one".)

I hate dealing with nightmares like this and the mf behind them that are always trying to 'game' their way out of doing what they should have in the first place. Good for you that you fought them and won. I've got battles like this to fight that get me livid even thinking about it.

I'm not sure it was worth the stress, but by the time I realized it wasn't.. too late to turn back.

The worst was some tech on their back end telling me "I took screenshots that I moved these over b/c without them nobody would ever be able to tell this happened". I'm sure you can imagine what happened next. Poof, what screenshots?

The level of audacity in people that you deal with in these situations is sometimes enough to want you want to get violent. Luckily, you can hang up on some a-hole liar (like the insurance agent my wife is on the phone with right now), and get another person who might be better.

Just fyi, the mx500 m.2 ssd is actually the slower of the two that crucial makes. Go for the P1
MX500: 560MB/S READ, 510MB/S WRITE
P1: 1900MB/S READ, 950MB/S WRITE

The 1tb P1 was going for about the same price as the mx500 not too long ago, about $120-140 (don't remember the exact price). Almost jumped on it.

Ah, just realized this was for the 2.5" sata drive. Well, at $144 (current price) the m.2 drive isn't a terrible deal, though not as good as 2tb for $200.

So people who read his post can stop posting afterwards.... oh wait

Should be moved to discussion probably.
My mx500 didn't last 2 years and because I have nudies of my wife on it she has forbidden me to send it in.
Don't put your wife's boobs on these is all I am saying.

No different than an hdd, with sensitive data on it, that you'd rma under warranty.
Simple answer, destroy it if you can't access it to secure wipe it.
