Reasonable Resolution Period?

I purchased multiple items from a seller here about a month ago. One of the 1 items had some issues and 1 is unusable. I supplied supporting evidence to seller. Seller offered replacement for problematic item and refund for the defective item. It has been a month since the replacement/refund offer...no tracking, no refund...

Seller did mention it would take time for RMA replacement, but it has been 1.5 month from purchase, and 1 month since settlement agreement.

Doesn't seem like a bad guy, just not sure how long I should wait before I should be concerned.
What is the appropriate way to handle this?

I'd just escalate to paypal dispute. I'm assuming you've sent a few "what's the status?" messages. So I'm pretty sure they've had enough time to at the very least lead you on a little further.

Its all about communication, so before you escalate, tell us if he has been talking to you; if so, how long is the delay between responses.
He may just be waiting for a RMA like he said..........most of us know that takes weeks.

If he is still answering you, discuss with him how long its been since the original deal, and see if there is another way to make this right, since a good amount of time has passed.

Now, if he had great communication before, and then stopped answering you, then opening a dispute might get his attention if he is ignoring you, but if that is not the case, then you two need to talk about another way to make things right for you.

Give us a bit more info, since you mentioned a RMA was discussed and he doesnt seem like a bad guy; let us know.

Worse comes to worse, send everything back for a refund, but again, you need him to confirm his address.

If he is still communicating then I'd hold off on a dispute for now. RMAs take time and if you agreed to go that route you need to let it play out. Just make sure you keep an eye on time limits for opening disputes.

If he isn't communicating then open than dispute yesterday. A seller who doesn't communicate is always grounds for a PP dispute.

At no point did seller stop communication, it's just that seller mentioned the refund twice but did not.

But good news is I took the advice from the thread and tried asking for a status update. Seller promptly replied and issued the refund. So looks like its a matter of waiting for the RMA now. I'm glad I didn't jump the gun, and asked for advice.

Thank you everyone, I'll keep patient and maintain lines of communication.

Just note that some RMAs can take excessive amounts of time. I had an item that a seller had me send into the manufacturer for RMA and it took over 6 months for powercolor to get to the RMA and resolve it.
