So last night after waking my pc from sleep it turned itself off and now I can't start it up anymore.

If I press the power button the pc seems to start, but I get no video and the keyboard and mouse don't get power. After 15-30 sec the pc will turn off and reboot and keeps "running" still without an image or working keyboard/mouse, it does not restart anymore.

I tried a different GPU which did not help, I did the clear CMOS thing and tried the bios flashback button but none of those seemed to make a difference so does this mean my motherboard is toast?

I did have some flickering on my screens when viewing YouTube which I assumed to be a side effect to the october update.

Also 2 days in a row I did get a BSOD which were the error id 41 which is mostly due to me pressing the reset button and another error which stated the the minidump could not be created.

I would also mention that I did have a corrupted bios once but this was pretty long ago, like over 6months where it automatically reflashed the bios from the backup one and has worked fine ever since.

I do not have a spare motherboard to swap things out but any tips or help are appreciated.

The only suggestion I have is to really really try to clear the CMOS. Don't use the jumper pin method, in my experience it's unreliable. Pull the actual CMOS battery and let the motherboard sit overnight. Disconnect all connectors and RAM. Then plug in all your connectors, checking to make sure they are properly connected. Go to a single RAM module - possible that dual channel or individual DIMM slots are faulty. Reboot and see what happens. Swap RAM sticks and DIMM slots if the board won't POST. Try every different configuration.

Basically my advice to you is to completely reset before you try anything else.

tear it down to basics, even so far as to remove the CPU. rebuild it with essentials only, known good gpu, preferably one that does not need axu power. and a single dimm. If it works, build out from there. And, it could be a bad PSU too, so if you have a spare to test with....

Pulled the battery overnight, pulled GPU out, the soundcard, 3 RAM dimms , reseated the CPU tried 3 different RAM dimms in 2 different slot's, used an AMD RX550 I had lyijng around as GPU, still no image or power to keyboard and mouse.

Still the same behaviour mostly, turns on for 10-15 sec and reboots and stays on, on the odd occasion it will not reboot and just stay on.

Read this thread, interesting about half way down, where OtisG talks about video and cabling and needing to press F2 for setup. http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=6206&title=taichi-x299-wont-finish-post-a2-error

I dropped my PC off at the repair shop today, I dont have the resources (ie. spare parts) to keep fiddling around, will have to make do with my 1500X/ RX570 for a couple days.

Debug code on the motherboard stated 00 which would point to the CPU or motherboard itself but who knows at this stage. Did not feel like sinking money into getting spare parts which may or may not fix my issue.

Just heard back from the shop, seems my CPU is busted, I see a new CPU and mobo in my future.
