AMD Cinebench Benchmark Demo at CES 2019 Buries the Current Intel Lineup

His voice is annoying, and getting this kind of information from a video is VERY annoying.

I wish he could just write an article instead.

Preach on, brother. I hate videos of just someone talking the whole time with information that would be 10x faster to just read. Then there is his voice and I was like "Nope".

OTOH writing articles requires grammar, spelling, sentence structure, etc. While anyone can turn on a camera and make sounds with their face hole to a powerpoint document.

I think it might have more to do with that there is much more money in YouTube than running an ad supported website these days.

That, and everyone wants to be a goddamned YouTube celeb.

If I recall correctly, once you hit critical mass of a couple of thousand subscribers or so, as long as you keep putting out new content, the take-home is approximately 20 cents per year per subscriber.

This guy has 84k subscribers, so we are talking about $17k per year

It would probably be tough for an upstart like him to make that kind of revenue from a website, especially considering how many people use adblockers these days.

His voice reminds of the pilot on The Rundown. "The coos on the grind." "What?" "The COOS ON THE GRIND!"

Look up stangmode on YouTube. He has 40k subs and brought in $30k last year. I thinks it is views more than subs though.

Maybe, I know one thing for sure. nVidia is still king when it comes to GPU's so there sure as hell won't be no 10% difference in that arena.
So True!
I'd like to see AMD come out with a $1300 card that can compete for the 1 % crowd that needs it like you and your 2080ti

See, I'd like to see AMD come out with something faster, that's more efficient, and costs $999. But my interest is limited when they're always playing two-year catch-up.

after reading here i see lots of intel fanbois getting triggered.

we'll grab 8 core amd cpu with turbo having same tdp as 9900k without turbo.

I mean, if you need a CPU. Most will probably just wait for Intel's next arch with faster single-core performance and even less power draw.

I don't know what's up with the salt and naysaying in this thread. Front to back he's said this was speculation, not just in this video, but in the video in advance of CES too.

Missing the mark by 100mhz does not mean his speculation was false.

I watched both the video in advance of CES and the one above, and I completely agree with him. AMD is going to mop the floor with intel here, and there's statistics to back it up, as was presented literally in front of all of you.

Yes, they are engineering samples, but do you expect it to get _worse_ as they refine the process for release? No. That's not how this works. CPUs get better as they get refined for release.

I seriously don't get the salt here guys, it's like you';re not even paying attention to what he has to say, and not accepting that he _repeatedly says this is speculation_, despite how quite accurate it is.
You realize Intel has paid shills all over the net, right?

That DEFINITELY explains some of the "salt" and "naysaying".

He copied/stoled the chiplet leak from SA Demerjian. Before AdoredTV published his videos, ppl as K. H. Chia was drawing detailed technical figures about what was coming for Zen2

View attachment 134546

So I find funny people in lots of forums pretends now that AdoredTV leaked all and predicted all. When he simply copied/stole info from elsewhere.

Who seriously gives a shit?

It's like you are desperate to change the narrative away from how good this chip could be by encouraging everyone to shoot the messenger...

How about NO?

Zen 2 is a win for everyone without question.
For AMD fans you get improvement from Zen +.
For Intel fans, it will absolutely force Intel to price their CPU's lower and more competitive with AMD.
I personally am running a 2600X and looking forward to placing a higher clock speed Zen 2 cpu into the same motherboard setup.
Agree with earlier comments that clock speed matters more than cores for most desktop users (non-professional). Am hoping Zen 2 can OC near 5.0Ghz all core (6-8 cores)

He's directly replying to the person he quoted. Maybe you should read the entire thread.

I just happened to listen to him drunk last night.

Different. Yes. Better. Possibly.

I hereby declare

juanga's law: First source must be the only source and all other sources declared moot.

juanga's corollary: Parallel unrelated sources are tied back to the first source by order of publish date.

Who is juanga?

Ironic considering you are famous for posting un-sourced graphs to get your point across.

There are a huge difference between posting a graph from a known review, and claiming the ownership of graph made by other people. Your logic fails at the very basic.

Grammar such as "I was like nope"? At least AdoredTV isn't using such brainless language-degrading neologisms. If he did, then it would truly be hard to enjoy his engaging analytical work.

Maybe you would read the thread, because there are about a dozen of posts about AdoredTV, before the mine. You would also check who I was replying.

I also find very funny your conspiracy theory. Nothing in this thread will affect people perception about how good the chip is, neither it will affect their sales.

Look at my signature.. Why in the world would I not want AMD to succeed?

People don't hop on this forum to spread nonsense.... (well, I don't)

It's weird how you bring up past arguments with AMD Fanboys to rationalize your silly opinion. IPC has always mattered you were just talking to a bunch of dumbasses. It's clear that you're an Intel Fanboy so you're no better than the AMD fanboys. Would you guys please just stick to the facts in front of you and quit putting your feelings in the posts?

Adored gave a great video about a very likely possibility. I think it's very interesting and if AMD can beat the 9900 K with a low-level chip than that be quite amazing for they're coming lineup of ryzen processors. If they price them nicely I think a lot of people are going to buy them in the next year or two.

What opinion? I just posted a well-known fact. I know IPC always matters. Recently I wrote this in a reply

Nothing more far from reality. IPC continues being very relevant for gaming. In fact both reviews and final users use the latest AGESA/BIOS and overclocked RAM just to increase the IPC of Ryzen.

Intel-fanboys disagree with you. They claim I am an ARM-fanboy.

AdoredTV created a video about stuff has been known for a while. I don't get why some people gets so angry, only because we claim his video is only repeating what we know.

Honestly that's what most of his vids are, a compilation of info from other sites slapped into one vid and his spin put onto it.

I'm not even entirely sure how he got into the tech news\rumours\journalism thing. if you look back in his youtube vids he used to be a very unsuccessful "lets play" content creator, then he made a vid on amd's new control panel which got a lot of views, done a few more low view lets play vids, then he basically went all out on tech suddenly having access to "sources" etc. o_O

There is nothing wrong on creating a video with compilation of others' stuff. But he is unfair when he presents the material as his, or when people pontificates his predictions/leaks, when his predictions/leaks are copied/stoled from other people.

I'm Danish and i understand him perfectly well, i even find him easier to understand than most other English speaking people.
A video is also fine for me as i often have something else going on on my desktop at the same time.
Danish too and have no problems understanding him. My wife is American and she has huge problems understanding certain British accents and also Irish/Scottish. We were watching some english movie a few years back and she had problems understanding a lot of words because they spoke it in a different way than american-english while to me It sounded as clear as any other English.
I remember her family didn't like Slumdog millionaire when it came out because they had issues understanding the English with Indian accent.

Also his mainstream target is people that prefers watching a video rather than reading.

He already had a website and a forum. But then he wasn't AdoredTV.

Everyone here agrees that Zen2 is a win for everyone. That wasn't the debate.

So you were involved in his sourcing? You state something that there is no way you could know as fact.

Shenanigans

Oh sorry I misspelled your name.

Except - AdoredTV specifically doesn't do that. Have you even watched one of his videos?? He physically shows every single source he has used, identifies them via links, and details the thought process of arriving at his own conclusions. He is very careful to distinguish between speculation, leaks, and known facts.

It is true that he'll freely call out others when he thinks they're misleading the public, intentionally or not. He has little tolerance for folks who don't work as hard as he does. So there's a lot of saltiness from "Site XYZ" fanboys.

Overall, the comments in this thread criticizing his work range from stupid to unfair, with many just being uninformed. I'm a solid AdoredTV patron for the very good reason that he's the best analyst I've found. It's telling that none of his critics ever point to a better one.

Chiplet design ... Check.
14 nm IO Dye ... Check
Up to 2 Zen 2 Cores ... Check.
There exist a 65W 8C/16T 3.6/4.4 Product ... Quasi Check (Turned out to be 3.7/4.5, oh noez)
More than 8 cores ... Quasi Check (see Lisa Su's response).

You work for CNN as a fact checker by chance?

Thank you for this.

Not when you use said graph out of context to affirm your own agenda.

When did he claim ownership? He said he had sources, most of which would prefer to remain anonymous. (because reasons)

When a source is public he often relates it to the argument as either affirming or denying where the information is trending.

I highly doubt you will ever reach such levels of reasoning, never state the hypothetical as fact.

I was going to reply, but the underlined part did me to change the opinion. In any case I already mentioned the names of some of the people from where he stole his leaks and predictions. So I stop here.

What agenda? Do you mean his agenda?

His real sources are people whose identity is public.

??? Now we're into real silliness.

You keep dismissing what he's saying with "you probably haven't even watched the video".. so how about you find a REAL reason to dismiss it besides made up assumptions?

Clearer?

I'm American from the Northeast. I can understand him just fine, I just find his accent somewhat annoying. Maybe I have an easier time with various UK accents because I grew up in Sweden though. Proximity helps maybe?

I've only ever had a problem understanding two different types of native English speakers. Some rural southern U.S. accents I really struggle with. I can usually figure it out, but I REALLY need to focus and pay close attention.

The other time was when we had a student exchange program in highschool. Our guest students were from some West African country. (Cant remember which).) Their official language was English, and I could barely understand a word they were saying.
