Just to let you all know that if you buy an HP machine you can upgrade but only if you buy the components direct from HP and their support walks you through the install. otherwise you void warranty. What a scam puts HP right in the asshat zone..

They might try to tell you the warranty is void... but the FTC has expressed another opinion on the matter.

How is the common man going to beat this? the headache and hassle filing an official complaint would not be worth the hassle FCC might help but it would take forever. Plus most are on enforced furlow right now...

As a common man who's successfully beaten a company's attempt at warranty nullification, it only took a complaint to my state's attorney general.

Yes I have dealt with NY State attorney General when Sears tried to weasel out of dead furnace under extended warranty I won but Sears still got me for 800. usd for UNCOVERED installation charges. You never fully win....

HP did a new BIOS supposedly critical F19, afterwards however issues started showing up freezes, crashes etc. Everyone who installed having them myself included. HP pulled the BIOS obviously a problem. That was just before christmas,. You can't roll back HP bios any more so us Ryzen x360 owners are basically (F*****D) . A few people sent in machines got them back two weeks later new mainboards. No new BIOS yet. Knowing HP and their total lack of quality and competence maybe never.....Maybe AMD drivers coming might help first quarter of next year. I have upgraded hardware and had problems with the the rubber feet strips that would probably give away the fact that I had upgraded even if I put all the original hardware back in.. I wish I had never bought this POS. I also will never buy another HP product or anything that has an AMD chip in it.......this is the last time AMD will ever burn me....Sorry if it offends any AMD fanboys but I wasted a crapload of time and money here.... Never had these problems with Asus, intel, or Nvidia.......

again, you bought a hp system NOT an amd system. this is all on hp.

Never had these problems with Asus, intel, or Nvidia.......

Count yourself lucky then.

I don't disagree that HP computers are crap. especially after working for them and still going through three POS laptops in two years (Others went through 5 or even 10 laptops in that same time period), but their printers and monitors are pretty solid. The problems you're having now aren't necessarily fully AMDs fault. HP programs the BIOS for it.

As far as I am concerned DEL is in the same boat as HP they both have Crappy upgrade deals(If you can upgrade at all).
That is why I went with a LENOVO last time for Laptop.
Purchased the Min. Memory the Lowest slowest HD. Then ripped them out and put in 16G memory and a fast 7200RPM HD (storage) along with a SSD.
It cost 1/3 of the price to do upgrade myself.

Dell's only in the same boat with their consumer lines though, the enterprise precision and latitudes are as solid as the thinkpads.
Fairly common with the self upgrade, Lenovo sells the "smart buy" stripped down models dirt cheap but still decent processors we did that at a business level with the W/T510s-W/T530s years ago.
