“We stand by our games. If you don't love it, return it.” That’s EA’s “Great Game Guarantee,” which allows Origin customers to get refunds if certain criteria are met. Gamers who have launched a game are given 24 hours to make a refund request, for instance, but redditor Papamje has found that isn’t necessarily true: after two days of back and forth (and nearly 9K of upvotes), EA hasn’t budged on his purchase of Star Wars: Battlefront. “… they are contradicting themselves in saying there is a tool to check when I first launched the game, but another member of their support team said there was no way for them to track when I first launched the game.”

You may return EA full game downloads (PC or Mac) and participating third party titles purchased on Origin for a full refund. Refund requests can be made within 24 hours after you first launch the game, within fourteen days from your date of purchase, or within fourteen days from the game's release date if you pre-ordered, whichever comes first. And if you purchase a new EA game within the first 30 days of its release date and can't play it due to technical reasons within EA's control, you can request a refund within 72 hours after you first launch the game instead of 24.

Don't buy EA games, don't have to refund.....

It just works.

hate to blame the vicitim but he bought a game from EA.

you get what you get return policy be damned.

I used the refund option on Battlefield Hardline Deluxe. There was a weapon I was getting killed with and the only way to get it was buying the deluxe version, so I bought it to see if the weapon was any good and it was, a few hours later I requested a refund for the game and they refunded my money no questions asked.
Next day I log in and I still had the gun. :)

Nothing surprises me with EA anymore. I recently reached out to them on my Origin account for connection issues with BFV. They closed the ticket with no response, so I reached out to them on four of their different twitter accounts as well as on Facebook. Nothing. Really underscores why people hate EA.

Sometimes winning the "worst company in America" award 2x is not enough.

You know what, I never thought I'd say this but I had an issue with my CD key of Battlefield Bad Company 2 being in use, I called up their customers service, went though a couple of questions and they resolved my issue very fast. It was almost like they cared. Very puzzling.

Yeah, I have had a good experience with them as well.

Y'all might give out about EA support, but is it millions of miles better then it used be.
I worked in a support center when they launched their central support centers

Before that it was an awful mismash of companies doing on their behalf. Now the tier 1 is outsourced naturally, but once you go to tier 2, its inhouse and the guys I worked with knew their shit.

This guy is talking shit, I guarantee it. Support for this kinda thing is fast. And we would have heard way more stories about them refusing refunds if they were actively doing it.

you would have expected a billion dollar company to have at least 1 person reading gaming/tech posts on reddit, and debunking all this with one clean, clear post, rather than letting this snowball. Who knows how many other people will come out of the woodwork to say i'm a victim too...

even pr-managers of celebs do a better job of this.

As some people commented in the post, there's more to this story that OP is not telling us. If Origin didn't refund games we would of heard about it long ago. This isn't the first guy to attempt an Origin refund.

First, "would of" hurts my eyes and I am not even a native speaker...
Second, even if the OP is not telling the whole story (quite possible, it's just a random rant on reddit after all), it is mind-boggling that EA would allow this to go on and get picked up by tech media instead of simply responding (or even simpler, "eating" that $15 refund...).

Because EA are beholden to shareholders and tend to be greedy fucks. Of course their bad PR will most likely get this guy a refund.

I got Battlefield 5 for Xmas ...... it was only $30 so it was a cheap gift for Family that were asking what I wanted.

I didn't even bother loading it for several days because I was 99% sure it was going to be a waste of my time ...... loaded it up ..... first thing you're greeted with is a ...... woman on the screen ... a big FU from EA to all of it's once loyal fans. Shouldn't the first loading screen suck you right into WW2? Not this game.

I mean it's all fake looking fake sounding fake playing WW2 bs ... there is nothing and I do mean nothing that gave me a WW2 experience sucking me like any other WW2 game I've played over the past 35+ years. I mean, for christs sake, commando at the arcade gave me more of a WW2 vibe than this game.

Tried multi-player, female screams ... huge turn-off. Maps are horribly small and on rails it seems. Zero tactics ... it's all button mashing arcade zerging between players ... feels horrible, plays horrible. I still can't get the female rape screams out of my head. They don't belong in the game ... at all.. Again, a huge FU from EA to all of its once loyal fans.

One of the loading screens has a female German soldier ...... /rolled eyes .... sickening to look at. I mean it's very weird and uncomfortable to look at this almost super model looking female with her perfectly formed eye-brows and narrow lips ... totally weird.

Tried the campaign ... even on hard enemies take way too much damage. They don't even fight back right away .. they literally stand there for 2 or 3 seconds giving the player the first shot ....

I will never play that shit again.

Let's hope the Battle-Royal part of the game is fantastic ..... fingers crossed. The only real reason I asked for it for Xmas.

But I am not expecting much to be honest.

The suits at EA that fucked the main game will more than likely fuck the multi-player game up as well.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4: Black Out is the now the gold standard for BR. They better get their shit together and not only emulate the play mechanics but best that game.

WTF happened to EA?

Nobody should ever buy into these bullshit guarantees, b/c in no world of any product will you not have to go down to hell and back only to find out they still won't do it. These are BS press sales tricks they tack-on and plan to never actually honor. They usually battle you by using attrition techniques (having you on phone calls all day).
