Nissan has announced the unveiling of its Nissan Intelligent Mobility roadmap at CES 2019. The company has a vision to connect cars on the road to each other to achieve zero-emissions and zero-fatalities. This will be achieved through driving aids that allow you to sense more around you, while lending a helping hand when needed. Nissan envisions a future where the internal combustion engine become more efficient and electric vehicles gain more advanced technologies. Cars will be linked to the wider society as they gain the ability to interact with people, other cars, and road infrastructure. Remote vehicle operation, reduced traffic jams, more efficient car sharing and improved energy management are all goals for the next generation of Nissan vehicles. Nissan has announced the arrival of the dual-motor, all-electric LEAF NISMO RC race car. This will event will coincide with the arrival of the 2019 Nissan Leaf with improved range, power, and other improvements.

Powering the all-new Nissan LEAF NISMO RC are two electric motors at opposite ends of the chassis. The motors produce 240 kilowatts combined (120 kW each) and an astounding 640 Nm of instant torque to the wheels. They more than double the maximum power and the torque output of the previous LEAF NISMO RC, which was introduced in 2011. Drivetrain technology sourced from the new Nissan LEAF include the high-capacity lithium-ion battery and inverters. The power-to-weight ratio results in an impressive performance of zero to 100 kph in just 3.4 seconds -- 50% quicker than the previous model.

This is the kind of EV we want.
While not EV, remember the Chevy Volt ?
This is the car "we wanted"

Then I apologize for showing you the road car.

It has 147 HP and 236 lb-ft of torque. FWD and 0-60 in the 8 second range.

This is the "NISMO" version. I put "NISMO" in quotes because it is just an appearance package, basically.

Hey Nissan, put up or shut up. Give us an electric GT-R already. Need to do some burnouts around Tesla-S's....

Another electric car that's a small hatchback, why am I not surprised.

The new Leaf isn't bad looking compared to other small electric cars
Interior is nice also
Old one...jesus its horrible...and the range is beyond shit

I still want the one we can’t have...

I still wouldn’t consider the NISMO public consumption version, but I’d be slightly less sad to see that on the road versus the gen one...

Sure, if you like that generic Prius design. The electric car industry is generally suffering from WOW Syndrome.
