Soulja Boy was confident he wouldn’t be sued for his game consoles and called people “retarded” for thinking so, but new tweets suggest he is now running scared: the rapper acknowledged yesterday he had to “boss up” (with defense lawyers, presumably) because he “didn’t have a choice.” His game consoles are no longer featured on the SouljaWatch website.

Rapper Soulja Boy seems to have had a change of heart when it comes to advertising his “consoles” and putting them on his SouljaWatch website. He has since taken them down presumably because of an impending lawsuit. The “consoles” looked suspiciously like other consoles on the market and included games from retro Nintendo platforms and others, which he didn’t have permission to sell or obtain.

What a fucking tool.

Well I know the non-rebranded version of this console comes stock with 100s of less than legal preloaded games.

Maybe his did too? That would obviously be a big issue.

"I'm rich, bitch!"

What is it with rappers in particular thinking that their business ventures can be secured with just hippity hopping money? This dude will make less money in his entire career than Nintendo spends on board lunches in a single year. Like, Jay-Z has been sitting at the big kids table since he was just a baby in career terms, all of his money amounts to a week of petty cash for a Nintendo and he's about as rich as they get in the hippity hoppity circles. Hell, Dre is a tech billionaire and Nintendo spends more money in a year crushing potential competition and stifling innovation than he has ever made.

nintendo goes after poor people barely making a living but doesnt put out a new article about suing the biggest douche bag rapper ever. I guess since he black , he will claim racism

Dumbass of the year award......and then when called out about it goes on Twitter bragging about selling something illegally.

Guys like him and wesley snipes...just can't follow the rules then cry foul when they get problems? I just don't understand it...basic stuff here, it's not the year 2000. We've been going over copyright laws for quite a decade and some now.

Soulja Boy's an idiot, and I made a joke that broke a forum rule. My bad Mr. Bennett.

A decade seems a little low. I remember trying to run SNES emulators on a 486-SX 33 MHz. Tough to do without dedicated floating point hardware.

I had similar luck trying to decode mp3's.

Actually I wrote decade and some. Yeah I was running emulators way back in late 90's like 98 / 99 etc. So I guess it could be two decades.

And to think we've been able to emulate this stuff on our phones for half as long! I started emulating Game Boy color games in 2008ish on my iPhone 3G.
