How to test psu?

Is there a better way to test how good a psu is doing beside simply watching voltages in HWiNFO?

Measure all the voltages at its rated power capacity, using both a meter and an oscilloscope, the way Oklahoma Wolf did.

Voltage accuracy isn't that good an indicator of quality, provided no voltage goes out of spec (+- 5%, +- 3% is better) from minimum to maximum load.

So if I dont have an oscilloscope, is testing with a voltmeter good enough? Just want to confirm my old psu is still good before putting it in another build.

Testing with just a multimeter has always been reliable enough for me.

You should be fine testing it with just a multimeter.

No load needed. Just jump it with the paperclip method and you will be good to go for testing. Unplug everything first of course so nothing turns on but the PSU

I've got one of those 24pin jumper plugs, so I can use that to power it up. I'll throw a multimeter on it and see what I get. Thanks!
