Home Alone actor Macaulay Culkin returned to his defining role this week in a tie-in for Google Assistant, playing (a much older) Kevin McCallister whose life is made easier by devices such as the Google Home, which help him add aftershave to his shopping list, prank the pizza guy, and fend off bandits, hands-free.

Culkin was 9 years old when he filmed the role of 8-year-old Kevin in 1990’s Home Alone. Now, the actor is 38. He can just eat mac ‘n’ cheese while Google’s series of household devices get ready to abuse would-be home invaders. As the tagline says, “Make Google do it.” “#heygoogle Have you ever wondered what Kevin McCallister is like as an adult? Me neither,” Culkin tweeted on Wednesday. “But just in case you’re curious you should totally watch this #ad.”

Dang, he's aged well despite having troubles back in the 90-00's. Thanks for posting, Home Alone is awesome.

Yeah I noticed his youtube appearance on a few of the AVGN videos, part of me wanted to leave a comment "how much does it cost to rent him?" but then I figure he was just pimping that website he mentioned (bunny something).

Good on him for coming back from his issues. Being a child star is really tough, from all the examples we have of those who are manipulated while they're "in" and then booted out when they're no longer cute/young/kids etc. Worst of all this happens to those like Culkin who proved to be pretty solid actors, but had difficult times getting roles as an adult because studios would say "He can't be a leading or supporting actor, everyone will just remember him as a kid etc". As I recall his relative (brother?) Rory also got into acting and both of them had difficulties of this type, but thankfully have ended up on their feet thanks to indie films and other opportunities. The one thing that should come out of our meme culture and "Netflix will fund it!" culture is that actors like this can embrace their past with a wink and nod, while still having work for present and future. Lets not forget that the actor who played Carlton in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air is suing Epic Games - and rightfully so - by not just referencing but actually selling the "Carlton" dance as an individual item!

Even though the commercial is for a wire tapping device lol it was cleverly done.

Probably stirs up a few purchases of the home alone series too allowing him to get some additional royalty income. Good move for Culkin.

By the way. Recently watched Home Alone with my kids that were about my age when I first watched it. They loved it. The movie holds up really well even 30 years later.

He certainly looks a lot healthier in this vid than those pics of him years past. Good for him.

How did you miss that this was posted like three posts above yours?

I had the same tab loaded up since earlier Sunday and didn't realize it never refreshed.

Here's more Culkin, which is probably what you wanted:
