Ive been learning alot about the enterprise version of win10 and it "clicks all my boxes" for an OS I want for my gaming PC. How can I obtain this version of windows with out needing to sell or refi my house? There has got to be a single use version that is priced within means of affordability....

based off the MS site, which version do i want? Im utterly confused!
  • Windows 10 Enterprise, version 1809 | 64-bit ISO
  • Windows 10 Enterprise, version 1809 | 32-bit ISO
  • Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019 | 64-bit ISO
  • Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019 | 32-bit ISO

Is it possible to make the "Evaluation" version which MS allows you to DL on there site, convert to a registered fully fledged OS by simply activating it with a digital key license like Pro?

With some command line changes, yup!

Bearing in mind there's a big difference between successful activation and legal. Just because an OS activates doesn't make it legal.

You can't legally buy Windows for $40.00.

Are you saying [H] is allowing the sale of no legitimate items? Was of the understanding the mod team looked into this and said it was legit

All I'm saying is that you cannot buy a legit copy of Windows for $40.00. Activation and EULA are two totally different things.

I would like to suggest you may not be 100% knowledgeable on all Microsoft license avenues. If this was not legit I would hope the mods would have stepped in

Back in the day when people got license keys under technet, Microsoft fulley knew they were being resold and did / could do nothing to stop it for “it was there right to do so”.

The seller MAY work for a large system building company that brokered a large discount for keys to which the user is passing on to us. $40 for an OS that is suppose to be free is not bad.

There are no individual licenses for any version of Windows Enterprise, they are all VLK (for pre-Windows 7/8/8.1 versions) and MAK (for 7/8/8.1 and later). The licensing terms for Enterprise are different from the retail versions of Windows and do not allow for individual ownership - even if you work for a company that provides you a license to use whatever version of Enterprise they use in their fleet deployments that license is not for individual use; you're an employee and that's considered a legit use, not an individual one.

There is no legit way to get a Windows Enterprise license if you're not working for such an organization unless you as an individual or a business owner go to Microsoft and then set up a licensing agreement which means a boatload of money to get the licenses.

Sure, those key brokers out there and here at [H] have access to tons of retail class keys, but if they're selling (and I know some of them do) Enterprise MAKs they're really not supposed to be doing that - that class or level of key/license isn't for individual resale, ever. Whether or not Microsoft gives a shit remains to be seen but because of the nature of VLKs/MAKs any of them could get blacklisted at any point in time. Enterprise keys (meaning for Windows Enterprise editions/versions) are not for individual use, it's just that simple - a lot of people do use Enterprise versions at home, on personal hardware, day to day and that's their thing, that doesn't mean they're legit. :)

All the 40 buck Windows licenses are OEM keys stripped from recycled computers or as you said, Technet keys and the license terms clearly say you're not allowed to resell or use the keys for anything but the specified purpose. They activate just fine but are pirate in reality. I don't think the mods really care nor can prove it - but I've seen it happen daily.

Same thing with cheap Ebay office licenses that come with a key on text file and a USB. Activates fine but differs from pirate only by you paying to him.

Better tell that to CDW......

what is VLK/MAK? Completely lost here. If I got a Enterprise ISO to install, will a key work?

VLK = Volume Licensing Key
MAK = Multiple Activation(s) Key

Both essentially the same idea, just that VLK was the term used years ago with XP and gradually they shifted to using MAK instead, the principle is the same for each: one key, with a shitload of activations tied to it (typically 5,000) and with each one the number remaining is reduced. Organizations and large companies get those kinds of licenses so they get a discount on the pricing and it's far easier to maintain knowing just one key works for a bunch of installs instead of having to maintain a database of Product Keys for given clients/uses/etc.

Getting an Enterprise ISO is relatively easy even if you don't have access to MSDN. The checksums are available with a Google search for most of them so you can always verify that whatever ISO you've acquired is legit and untouched. As for the Product Keys, can't say since you'd have to make use of one to know if it'll activate or not.

I would suggest that most of what you just posted is flat out incorrect. You cannot resell a Windows Enterprise license and Microsoft did do something about Technet - They shut it down. It's a shame the greed of a few ruined one of the best ideas from Microsoft.

Nope. Seller is a dude in Sri Lanka that's just middlemanning shady MSDN keys from /r/microsoftsoftwareswap -- a sub with other foreigners selling MSDN, edu/dreamspark or foreign keys - however they can get them.

His thread keeps going because the buyers are "welp my key activated, don't care where it came from".

Not sure why anyone would ever believe a 40 dollar windows key was legit. lol

You are not allowed to resell them. MS doesn't sell enterprise to home users.

By all means pirate that shit. But don't dilute yourself and make some shady types selling "legit" it will activate keys millionaires. There is no such thing as a 40 dollar windows key that is on the up and up.

If a fresh non upgrade copy of windows 10 home sells for over a 100 bucks why on earth would MS be selling or blessing resellers to sell their full on high end enterprise skus for 1/3 the cost of a home version.

Totally agreed. I can't fathom how people believe it's legit to grab a Windows key for $40.00..

Well cause they gave 10 away for free to everyone didn't they ? :) lol

All joking aside ya legit enterprise copies for a company with less then 50 employees are going to run 150-200 bucks a piece. MS doesn't sell windows any cheaper to big companies then to home users until they start talking about 1000+ licences. Only advantages for a company with less then 1000 licences are the differences between Enterprise and pro/home. They will not save money... but they will get a better product for around the same cash.
