Google wifi opinion good or not?

I forgot to say that house I'm looking to use them in is a one story small house and I have a asus router now i like haveing the options to configure it but it's not a must if it means I can have better wifi not have to worry about it

How large is the house? Age? What materials make up the walls? How many and what types of wireless clients? Are you actually having coverage problems in some locations?

Mesh is a compromise. It's really only intended for those situations where a single AP can't cover the required area, but running ethernet to additional AP locations is not an option. For all but some of the most expensive systems, your'e going to be sacrificing client/AP bandwidth to cover the backhaul between mesh nodes. Also, mesh nodes can't simply be positioned as required for best client coverage, you have to place them such that they can best communicate with each other.

I don't mind setting up my network and also I have a neighbor who has been trying to use my wifi so banned Mac address to get them to stop

If you absolutely have to run mesh - I would recommend Orbi because they have a dedicated backhaul radio.
