I got a EVGA RTX 2080 XC Gaming card, and I cannot run dual 1440 @ 144hz. Whenever I set my monitors to both run 144hz via displayport cable it reverts back to 120hz. I was able to run 144hz with my old 680 SLi but with the RTX 2080 it is not possible. I have the latest drivers, and only these drivers since I did a fresh install of windows 10. Does anyone know of a fix for this??

try checking windows display settings/advanced settings/display adapter properties, might have to set the refresh rate on there.. i know i had to do it with my 75hz displays since they default to 60hz in windows even if i set it to 75hz on the displays themselves and i found it easier to do that way then bothering with the nvidia driver control panel. only thing i can think of off the top of my head.

I don't believe NVIDIA supports >120 Hz with multiple monitors anymore. I recall a post on their forum from around 2014 that said as much. It was one of those issues where they couldn't fix it so they just killed it.

Really? I’m running 3 144Hz displays and windows 10 lets me set all 3 to 144Hz in display settings. Is win10 lying to me? I have my PG27U set to 120Hz since it’s 4K HDR. My side displays are 144Hz and they seem to be working fine.

Yeah I think that's right also. Also I can't imagine 680 SLI cutting it in just about anything @ 1440p 144hz.

It may just be for Surround configurations. OP did not specify how their's is running.

I was running triple 1440p 144Hz with the 2080 Ti in SLI. It was working in Surround and also as 3 separate monitors. It should be supported.

Are both monitors connected to the primary GPU?

Also running 3 x Dell 144Hz monitors in surround with 2080Ti cards.

OP, which particular monitor are you using? There are many reports of problems with BenQ monitors and 144Hz because of "timing problems" according to Manuel over on the Nvidia forums.

that's only when running a high refresh rate monitor with a 60hz secondary display. from my understanding it is w10 specific and is potentially caused by windows gamedvr shit that needs to be disabled.

Changed the refresh rate on one monitor "via windows" and now both monitors won't post any display in windows. They just post a black screen, so I'm going to have to play with it later when I have more time. Anything above 120hz windows 10 goes nuts. Now I cannot get both monitors to post in windows after changing me one display to 144hz in windows 10. crap

What are the monitor models? I don't see them in your sig.

I'm just resetting the PC, driver removal, system restore nothing worked and can only use one monitor. Windows sat there going nuts until I remove the 2nd monitor.

looked up your specific problem with those monitors.. so looks like it's driver related.

other threads i've found nvidia is claiming benq's 144hz timing is wrong yet they work fine on non 2k series gpu's and benq is blaming nvidia.. the fact that all these people are showing they worked fine at 144hz on previous gen cards with these benq monitor tells me nvidia fucked something up and they don't know how to fix it.

as far as what drivers the 2k series requires, from the looks of it driver version 416.34 is the last driver where these monitors worked properly at 144hz.. might want to try going back to those if they support your card and aren't using w10 1809

found another post were some one talked to a nvidia rep that claims they're trying to fix it..

They did fuck something up because my gtx 680 had zero issues running 144hz; I guess I will just use 120hz. Funny how a old card had zero issues but their flagship card can't, which I find insane
