Who here Pre-Ordered i9 9900k thru Amazon?! Please post in here

Picked up a Maximize XI and 9700K... Not having any luck getting this board working. Takes forever to POST and the CPU gradually warms up and overheats. Checked the cooler twice (H115i), reset the UEFI too optimized defaults.

edit: Turns out my H115i was on its last legs and moving it around killed it. Running my 9700K at 3.6GHz with an Intel Stock HSF until tomorrow.

I ordered on the 17th and still haven't gotten anything. With any luck it should be shipping in the next week or so. Then the hunt for a Maximus XI Formula continues lol.

Tracking says Thursday from Newegg - that was too easy. I suggest ditching Amazon altogether and setting up NowInStock for Newegg.

I actually was able to snag a Formula when they went in stock @ Newegg.. so thats nice. Still waiting on that 9900k and for the 2080ti issues to smooth over.

Microcenter got a shipment today and my friend who pre-ordered one on BH got his shipping confirmation. The wait should be over soon.

Best Buy has been bouncing in and out of stock more often. They are usually only in stock for about 30 seconds.

They do this so much on different products that I wonder if it's canceled orders opening up more preorders.

In stock at newegg.
Yea, it's only 1-2 times per day, but that better than a week ago. I snagged 5 last night from BB.

I got notification they were in stock just now. Got 2 for my build and for a demo build I’ve been trying to get going. Both from Newegg.

Edit - and they canceled one of them. If I get another notification I'll just ship it to work. Bastages.

Finally got mine on Friday.
Ordered on Oct 8th. Box is a bit scratch up and crack.....

If you're still waiting on one from Amazon, just forget about it. I bought a 9700k the other day from Amazon and while it's nice, I still felt like I wanted the 9900k. So today I went to nowinstock and put on alerts for Newegg, Amazon and BB. Got multiple alerts for BB but it sold within minutes and then later in the evening I got one for NewEgg. Grabbed it from there immediately and it's already in packaging:

NewEgg is still price gouging and I honestly hate buying anything from them because of their shit return policy but since they were the only ones that had it and I'm impatient, I grabbed it.

Newegg’s slight gouge came out a wash since Amazon charges tax for me...
I was paying that no matter what.
Happy with the 9900K, although I think I’m going to have to invoke a negative AVX offset. 5.0/5.0 passes all my tests but FO76 was crashing every now and then (in addition to the server boots/disconnects) - setting CPU to 5.0/4.9 seems to have cured that..
I won’t go over 1.40v on a CPU...
Need more time to tweak..

Should be able to get 5Ghz with much less than that.
Maybe try this that seems to be working for many:

F7a bios is there as well.

Most people run a -2 offset - I’ve tried to always run 0. Synced AVX is what takes the massive voltage increase...

^^ what voltage? I was good with no offset, even Primed for a few hours, 3DMarks etc.. so who knows.

I hear you. There are some engines that seem to be pickier than others for sure. I am pretty sure I am at 1.30 in bios for my Gigabyte Master with LCC Turbo in my F5 bios. But I am also stable with the link I provided above except I left avx offset default and the DVID I left at 0 as well.
Gonna play with it more tonight to keep finding the limits then work on memory.

I gave up on Amazon and canceled my Oct 17th preorder. They were in stock on BHPhoto for a solid day and I picked up 2 without any issues. Got them both yesterday.

Getting mine tomorrow from my tracking. (9900K) Had to wait awhile, but got it for the initial $529 pre-order price so i'm happy. FINALLY can start my build once it is here, and i'll have over 4 days to do it. :woot:
