Finally, after ALL THESE YEARS, I received my $10.07 from the class action lawsuit against Sony for removing the "Other OS" option from the PS3. I vaguely remember participating in the lawsuit. Anyone else receive one of these??

Man, I am ashamed to say I was a big proponent of PS3. Until Sony released it, that is. They were full of shit on so many levels.

Haha! I got that check the other day. I looked at it, ripped it up and threw it away. I live so far out of the city, it’ll cost me at least that in gas to cash it.

Do you not have the capability to deposit via app? Who goes to a bank anymore?

This. I live in a different state than my bank, so flying there is out of the question. I use the app all the time.

PS3 is my favorite modern console it had all the good games like Borderlands 1 and Fallout New
Vegas which both were my absolute favorite back then when I played on a projector. Also it had Demon's Soul which is the best Souls game out there bar none.

I got mine as well. Can anyone else tell me did they get MORE than $10-11? I applied with what I thought was proof of interest/real use of OtherOS (ie I have a Phat with an early serial number, actually installed Linux once way back when to mess around etc.) and I was under the impression that got you $50-60ish, whereas the $10 was for those who just had ANY OtherOS capablePS3 without any proof of interest/intent to use? . Did any of you guys get a $50+ check?

I'm trying to figure out if the entire pool was so large that even those with proof of interest/use in OtherOS only got $10

Edit: PS - no idea what bank account the fellow above has, but even if you don't have a smartphone many banks allow scanning in documents via a web interface or even a picture of some sort. I know that mine, besides the app, uses a platform-agnostic (so glad for this as a Linux user) method of deposit via scan.

Got my check as well for the same amount. So much for that $50.

As usual with class actions, the lawyers make out like bandits and we're left with the crumbs.

Gave up the smartphone, so no, don’t really have an app for that.

$0.45 (or whatever the hell it is today) for a stamp? I used to mail all my checks in for deposit.

But it’s cool that you can just throw out money too.

To start with, I didn't remember to do so or was to lazy to submit my claim but yes the class action gave up to $65 and that number decreases as more people receive a settlement. Doesn't matter what you did or if you've never installed another OS.

I actually called the number on the site and checked on things - apparently nobody got more than $10.07 thanks to the ton of people involved in the claim. They had to basically revoke the "Class A" vs "Class B" claimants thing because there wasn't any money to give people more than the minimum, as opposed to what they originally planned. Kind of sucks but hey, $10 is $10.

I assume when every game site put out an article that you could get $65 for Sony's PS3 other OS class action suit, tons of people jumped on. Either way I'd take $10 since it's more than nothing.
