Rise of the Tomb Raider

It says the season pass requires the 20th celebration pack. It doesn't work with the original game? That would be hard to believe.
That just means the base game I am pretty sure, they probably have that text auto updated and it is confusing.

It works, and the season pass actually includes the 20 year celebration expansion. So thanks for the tip, now I Have every piece of the puzzle.

I finally finished the game with Shadow as incentive. Very well done, but I think the reveal at the end was spoiled very early in the game (I thought it was obvious from the get-go). Blood Ties provided a good bit of closure to the storyline.

Was starting to go for all the achievements when I noped out. The additional story mode achievements were fun to get. But looking at the expeditions it's obvious it was made to push microtransactions, as you don't earn credits at a good pace and it's nigh impossible to get gold ratings without any score bonus active. I plotted out and executed my route for Lost Expedition flawlessly and still ended up 5k short of gold. I'll probably play through Cold Darkness at least once, but I think I'm going to settle for 100 out of 143 achievements completed.

I have this game for the XBox One and PC, I have yet to finish it. :D (I bought it because I played the demo on the XBox One and loved it.) Oh well, I had only finished the original Tomb Raider 2013 somewhere around the end of 2015.

Anybody else have display driver crash issues or should I chalk that up to Day 1 RTX drivers?

Meh, I don't give a frack about achievements. A game should be interesting for it's own sake, without having to put in "achievements" as some carrot to keep you playing. Playing to get 100% or get all achievements, is no fun. Hell I don't have about 25% of achievements for XCOM2, and I played it for 800 hours.

100% completion is very different then 100% achievements...I don't really care about Achievements unless it's something easily obtainable during the course of gameplay...with ROTTR a ton of achievements require you to play the various Multiplayer modes

Some achievements also require you to forgo certain upgrades in some games. Or play a strategy that is daft at best. I agree 100% completion is different than 100% achievements. But in some games 100% completion also requires a play style that is not very immersive.
If the game has replayabality sure I may try a 100% completion on second or third try. But I intentionally avoid being dragged into tracking down every last fetch quest in a game on my first go, I want to experience the story and role play the character as realistically as possible, and going after some dices for a random kid in shadow for example doesn't fit that.

I know this is an old thread. However, I finally just finished the game after 10.5 hours of gameplay. Am I the only one who found the last portion of the game super difficult? I played most of the game as a seasoned raider, ended up changing to an adventurer level for the last part and even then, it took me a few attempts to get through. :D

At what level of difficulty you played the game?
I fonished the game at normal difficulty and I don't had any problems. In ten hours you probably rushed the game too much

10 hours seems quite low, I finished the game in 20, albeit on the hardest difficulty.

There is no normal difficulty setting, there are 4 settings, and I played at the third one for most of the game, Seasoned Raider. The time that I played the game was based upon what it said in the lower right hand corner of the game itself. I did not rush the game at all, I simply did not bother with all the side stuff and optional tombs that I could raid.

Nah, that last part was very difficult for me, I just kept getting owned until I lowered the difficulty level down.

10 hours is not low at all, at least according to what the clock in the game said the time played was. I just simply decided to play the game itself through and ignore all the extra stuff that did not change the outcome of the game. Took me over two weeks to finish it but, I only played at night on the weekdays or some during the day on the weekends.

There's something about the jumping that isn't quite right, so I found the game tough in that regard. I just about always die one the first try with the grappling hook axe.
Combat's interesting because just about everyone is wearing a helmet. It's not like you can just snipe everyone with 1-shot bow kills. I mainly used the high powered auto rifle (the RAL) and would just line up head shots and keep firing 'til they eventually died. Enemies tend to flock where someone dies, so you can take out large packs of those cult members that way. I used hip fire with the shotgun to kill the trigen-type enemies.

The last part of the game isn't hard if you took the time to do all the extra stuff, as all your equipment and abilities would have been upgraded. It took me about 28 hours to finish the game on Survivor difficulty completing it to 100%, and I found it very easy.

There are some WTF moments with the jumping mechanics, admittedly. It seems like instead of designing the levels to the physics they just created magnetism for parts where you are supposed to go. It's even worse in Shadow.

The bolt action rifle one shots all human enemies on a headshot including those with helmets on Survivor difficulty. If you bought the 20-Year Anniversary version or own all the DLC you start with the golden bolt action rifle and can equip it after your first encounter with the bear.

That figures. LOL :D
