GeForce RTX 2080 Ti FAILS After Gaming for 2 Hours @ [H]

Because that was totally your text I quoted, right? Jesus Christ, you people are losing IQ by the minute. Go outside or something.
You said another anti Nvidia. You could of been talking about me. So I decided to help you a bit. I was just outside working on my truck!
I have plenty of IQ to spare. :)

Hmmm perhaps HM2 is a better route than GDDR6 after all. It looks like the GDDR6 in these things are even slower than the DDR4 in the gt 1030. :p

What the hell is going on with these $1000+ cards? Nvidia had PLENTY of time to quality check these things. It's not as if Navi was just around the corner.

Nvidia has really pissed off the their loyal customers with this release.

Yeah, thankfully I don't give money to forums to access the more autistic parts of it.

That was so darn clever. I am glad you don't either. You would be schooling everybody up and down!

Yeah. I’m a real asshat. I’ve paid a lot for Genmay access over the years and I Patreon monthly. I should be banned. Lol

So back on topic. Clearly an issue with the latest generation of Nvidia cards. And glad I didn’t buy one.

So Nvidia got a bad batch of Micron GDDR6 chips and if you send it in for RMA you will get a card with Samsung GDDR6 instead? And the card works too? Wow better make a sensationalist blog post about how Nvidia shit the bed because you OC'ed bunk memory.
Run stock card.
OC card (how high? lol who knows...)
HOT HOT HOT!!!
Run card at stock again.
*card dies*
>put stick in wheel spokes
Fucking Nvidia...

Okay, so let me get this straight.

Your entire point is that you think Nvidia used faulty/fragile memory components that they obviously didn't test for overclocking, it was his fault that his GPU died while overclocking it, even though Nvidia (quoting them) made the GPU for overclocking (per their own marketing jargon)?

If you want to push speeds further you can try your own additional overclocking, which as you’ll see later, is entirely possible thanks to the Founders Edition’s cutting-edge design and efficient components.

From their own freaking web page.

They even released an Nvidia Scanner utility recently. Like I get that he didn't post exactly what overclocks he made, but it's not like he was running it on LNO or he modded the GPU BIOS. These couldn't have been absurd clocks. GPUs having artifacts when pushing clocks they can't sustain is fairly normal. You bring them back down, and the GPU generally keeps running fine for several years. GPUs should also have safeguards in place to prevent catastrophic failure due to some rising temps.

This is totally on Nvidia, and really you just coming in here and presenting your point like this is only going to get you on a lot of block lists. At least stop trying to sound snarky. It's not doing you any favors, especially considering your leaps of logic are so ridiculous.

I knew someone would put forth the effort. I just didn’t have it in me to respond to ridiculousness with seriousness.

You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

And so many Republicans!

This whole launch feels like GTX480 again. Clocked up to the max with little headroom, sketchy ram, weak stock thermal solution, etc, etc, etc. I'll wait for the 580 version.

There’d be more democrats but they can’t follow the rules. Although to be fair I’ve been banned at least thrice.

Very true - They had to give these a large stock overclock to make the 2080 look better than the 1080ti and the 2080ti look at all exciting.

Us Republicans are a a dyeing breed. Soon it will be mathematically impossible to win any election.

The Ban Hammer thirsts. It needs to feed.

Unrelatedly: I want a nifty title, I just wanted to mention my jealousy towards those of you that have them.

That's just a sign that you need to buy another one. The more you buy the more you save!

In other news, my Geforce 2 GTS is still going strong, 17 years later!

Just go insult Kyle and/or his friends. That's how I got mine. I'm sure it'll turn out well for you.

I have eaten a ban. Tastes like a tuna sandwich, no crust. (bullshit asshole, no one likes the tuna here!)

I’ve seen so many poofs in Genmay.

But it runs at the same speeds?

Hmmm perhaps HM2 is a better route than GDDR6 after all.

And not be able to release the cards at all like AMD with Vega? The GPU is even larger; HBM requires a massive interposer, and it bit AMD in the ass. You're proposing that Nvidia should make the same mistake with a consumer part?

OTA GFX bricking...

Relative to what the architecture/cooling/die can handle, not simply absolute speed.

But do we really know that? Honest question- what is the bracket for 'safe' with the RTX cards?

I see Paschal at around 2,000MHz with decent cooling, and the main theoretical detractor for the 2080Ti is that the die is even larger- has it been shown to be too much?

Yeah, thankfully I don't give money to forums to access the more autistic parts of it.

And I just donated because of this comment, if you don't see the value in Hardocp's reporting outside of a forum you look like an *troll* on, then maybe you should leave?

I will only go outside if Nvidia pays me too. Otherwise I have to stay inside (sad face).

Hook me up with the connect brah, I can shill too but I need to be paid for it because I don't have a low IQ.

I got my ban a while ago for calling someone a weed smoking broke-back cowboy.

The ban hammer may find many a fool when all the beer has been drunk.

Because overclocking has never, EVER killed an otherwise functional video card in the past, right? Don't push the limits if you can handle the consequences. The fact that Kyle's post has very little specifics such as what the OC was and how he was loading the card and instead is heavy on how his new card just died "it wuz on stock guis, don't mind that previous OC" tells me all I need to know.

OC on stock volts should almost never kill anything. Of course memory can get shitty with high OC and stock volts but never seen proven damage from high clocks and stock volts once backed down. If you have, please show me, I'm all ears and I have been OCing since the 586 days and even held an air cooled WR on the oppy 165. Nothing much but not a total newfag..

Beer is for breakfast. Drink or get out.
In NZ we whatever time that is 'beer-o-clock'.

Let's try to keep some semblance of on topicness here folks.

Two things that derail a thread in a positive direction: beer and boobs. :p

Doesn't seem like much more to say on the 2080ti failures except to wait for Kyle's fact finding mission to conclude.
