Should I be concerned with the throttling behavior of my 2080Ti FE?

While I wait on parts to finish the loops for my quad build, I've set up a single 2080Ti FE in an extra machine. It is on completely stock settings using the stock cooling.

When I run some test renders, I see it throttling due to Vrel and Vop even when the TDP at the time is as low as 80%. The PSU in the machine is an HX1200i and this is the only GPU in there, so I wouldn't think it's due to poor/insufficient power delivery.

Should I be concerned about these codes, or is this normal?

The Turing cards seem to hate Corsair power supplies (possibly only the digital ones).

I had an AX1500i that I thought was great, but after getting the 2080 Ti it was nothing but problems (crashing, BSOD, etc.).

So I "upgraded" to an EVGA 1000 G+ and it's been great so far. Not saying your PSU is a problem, but it may be (at least with the 2080 Ti).

Ha. Exactly what I didn't want to hear :) Actually, it's better news than "RMA your card," so I guess it's not the total opposite.

Try the single rail mode on the PSU. It’s a switch on the thing.

I think the 2080 ti should come with a warning; must require x amount of wattage on a single 12V rail. Here I thought I was going backwards when I replaced a multi rail 850W PSU with a single 1k psu on my last build.

My 2080 Ti FE works great on my Corsair AX1500i, so YMMV. Just double-check your PSUs settings, and try to use two different power connectors off of the PSU to connect to the card itself.
