Can you play Fallout 76 solo or is Fallout 76 single player gameplay a myth?

No real single player.

I canceled my pre-order, but I guess I can still play the beta, so I'll give that a shot tomorrow afternoon when it unlocks.

Thanks for the video. Godamn it looks terrible. First Fallout game I won't be buying. What a fuckin travesty. Hope they don't fuck up ES like this.

So this is just their drm. To protect the sales. I am not buying until private servers and mods are part of the game.

Fallout 76 is a Trial and error for Bethesda if it works than The Elder Scrolls will be next on the list.

Bethesda will make sure that all mods have to be download from Creation club for it to work with 76 IMO, but we have to wait and see in another six months to a year time for this to be fixed.

I'll bet you'll have to pay for both. Rumor has it , Mods aren't coming out for it until November of 2019.

Exact boat I'm in. If beta is cool, I'll pre order again. So far, it looks like I won't be pre ordering, though.

This looks like it's gonna be one of those situations where I wait for you [H] guys to post actual game impressions etc....

Sad, but based on the beta footage I've seen.... I dunno man. Looks... not. good.

I'll try the beta, but I may cancel my pre-order if it's shit. Hate to do it but this is not looking good.

I was looking at this for the beta this morning. So are most of you guys totally out? Game looks like it sucks? It looks like ESO to me, obviously makes sense since it's Bethesda. ESO never really kept my attention, trying to decide if this is worth my pre-order or if I should just get something else. Jonesing for a new game, multiplayer would be nice, but nothing is sticking out to me from this game so far that looks worth my $59.99. Help sway me one way or the other, fellow [H]'ers!

I'm totally out so far. Zero percent chance of a preorder.

I'll keep an eye on this thread (and a few other spots) because I have some regulars here that I know will tell it straight and that may or may not change my mind depending on how things go.

If you want to play the Beta, you have from 7pm EST to 11pm today to play it. They only let you beta test it for 4 hours, wtf!!!!

Timer says 2 hours left, so I guess in 2 hours it will unlock and install but you have to wait til 7pm to play.

If you try it please be sure to comment on how shitty the graphics are...textures, object detail, polygon counts ...etc.

I cancelled my pre-order on Amazon, then re-preordered and got a 2nd beta key for my friend. :)

Here's the beta schedule

Shit, they can't even get the Beta up and running,

Well, that didn't take long.

It still amazes me how in 2018 with how cloud hosting works and knowing what pre-order numbers are that they can't get this right.

The beta starts at 7 PM EST.
Countdown ended at 5pm so that the game could install, it's not installing.

Giving me a "Game Server Offline or you're not connected to the internet" error now.

this shits retarded, it's now re-downloading the entire 47GB that I pre-loaded the other day.

The game decided to non-op my preload. I suspect the same will happen to others which will further hammer their servers.

I just hopped on my PC and the Bethesa Launcher shows the game is unlocking, at first glance I thought it was downloading again. I opened the app and logged on this morning before work, so no login issues here.

Also received my 4K 2001 Space Odyssey copy today, not sure which way to go for the evening.

Exact same situation for me as well.

Honestly this game is pretty boring. I just don't get that sense of wanting to run around and discover things like I do in the singleplayer games, and being forced public multiplayer honestly just kind of blows.

This game has nothing that I tend to like out of other Bethesda RPG's, and it'll never have the mod potential along with everything locked behind grinding gaps.

Just ignore this one for a year or two. Let Bethesda patch it up, release mods (if any), private servers (if any), DLCs/Expansions. Get the complete GOTY edition for $20 eventually, maybe play with some friends for a while, then drop it.

This is the last game on earth you want to be playing at launch. Certainly don't pay $60 to deal with this shit because you know it's going to be a mess for the forseeable future.

Welp, I've got some thinking to do about my power armor preorder. This may change, but as soon as you load into a world and are creating your character you can hear other people talking. So I'm sitting there listening to a group of friends talking about what they're doing. I looked quickly in the options for push to talk but didn't see anything so I just kept my mouth shut. I picked a generated skin so I could quickly start running around. Within 30 seconds I ran into someone else who proceeded to call me an n-word. I died laughing if I'm honest because that ended up being my first social interaction in the game. I'm not surprised at all. I can only imagine how much of that shit there is going to be. Normally I would have taken my sweet time to explore the vault but I just wanted to get out of there to get away from the other people with their voice chat.

I will say it was cool running into some ghouls or scorched I think they were called and fighting them along someone else. I can totally see this being an awesome game when playing with the right people, but unfortunately people on the internet will do everything to make it a miserable experience. I only stopped playing because I had a phone call, but honestly I'm not itching to jump back in. That is saying something considering how much time I've spent in the other Fallout games. I think TaintedSquirrel has the right idea.

You can go into sound options and change voice chat to 'team only' or off completely.

But even then - Being forced to play with other randoms sucks for this type of game IMO.

Really, that's what that was? I thought it was in game audio. I kept hear a guy talking to his girl friend on the phone going "I knowwww I love you toooo"
