Bioware has a lot riding on their next big game, Anthem, and more details are coming out as we approach the early 2019 release date. Over the weekend, the studio streamed some more gameplay. Unlike the previous demos, this stream shows what the game looks like at lower graphics settings, but more footage detailing the game's graphics settings is supposed to come next week.

Check out the archived stream here.

Excellent job by Mr. Lee Williams, Mr. Thomas from BioWare, and Kijooki! Please be sure to check out twitch.tv/anthemgame for more live streams in the future!

I am torn about this game.

On one hand I love bioware, I love mass effect, I love Dragon Age and I KOTOR and I know they can do quality work. Their story telling is second to Rockstar at this point. They can put out quality when they get out of their own way.

On the other hand they sold their souls to EA and I'm worried this is going to be a knock off clone of destiny with the vantage point of Warframe and the drudgery of a Star Wars battlefront 2 with microtransactions out the asshole. This followed up by the fact that BW needs to put LGBTBBQ++ in every goddamn game so we can fuck fae-kin cisneutral pandas to please the twiterrati makes me believe they'll cram SJW shit down my throat.

sigh....4 months to wait.

Honestly, beyond Mass Effect 1/2 and Dragon Age: Origins you can see the precise moment Bioware was sold to EA and their quality team either left for other endeavors or just plain stopped caring.

I gave up on them after giving a last ditch effort into resurrecting my brand fandom of Bioware with Dragon Age: Inquisition. That company only exists in name anymore. Do not delude yourself into thinking that the same talent still works there, that made them famous.

Anthem will get huge day 1 sales then flounder just like Destiny. There is nothing there but fireworks. Pretty at the explosion, fizzle out to nothing after and you are done a second after the pretty colors.

Let me believe a little longer...I have my amazon preorder at 20% off still...

The moment BioWare died was when EA demanded a console version of Dragon Age: Origins be made and it was announced that Dragon Age "had a console future." (BioWare was acquired by EA in 2007, DA:O was released November 2009 after being in production since 2002.) It pisses me off thinking about it as BioWare had grand plans for the franchise (the "Lord of the Rings" of the video game world).

Unfortunately though I’ve gotta say as much as Destiny does wrong and as much as I bitch about aspects of the game, I’ve put a lot of fun hours into the games. Can’t say I regret paying full price even, I got my money worth of fun out of them. The key was playing with some close friends through it.

I can see Anthem possibly being able to capture the same mindless sort of gameplay. Simple underwhelming coop. On the plus side though it can’t be any worse than Bungies attempt at having “sooper serious storytiem guyz”. Their exposition and lore is awful.

I haven’t watch much of Anthem gameplay and I don’t think my friends have any interest in it sooo. Doubtful I’ll get it even though I do have a little interest in the game model.

These guys just seem to be joking around. Looks like titanfall tbh. Even titanfall looks better.
If you want an alien sci-fi looking world you need to do it right. Player adoption to the world requires the user to be amazed.

I must have missed the 40-foot tall mechs in all the promotional material released so far.

We've seen snippets of dialogue, and it's pretty clear that the storytelling/characters aren't going to be like KOTOR, DA, ME... If you like Warframe, Destiny, ME Multiplayer and so on, its reasonable to keep your hopes up, but I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment if you playing for a Mass Effect-like story.

And this is coming from Bioware fanboy who liked Andromeda.

I always thought Halo 1-3 was pretty good at keeping exposition to a minimum. Haven't played Destiny though.

Not sure why so many are bitchy about Anthem - "too much like XYZ games" or "not enough like XYZ personal favorite game". Clearly it borrows elements and mechanics from other games. Who cares, if it ends up being stellar on it's own merits? As if Destiny or any of the other comparisons also didn't steal heavily from previous games.

Everything've seen so far look like it's going to be pretty fun to play. The environments alone look amazing. Being able to jet off into the air anytime like Ironman also guns my engine.

That’s the problem it’s still at a minimum and mired in faux mystery. They have a story they’ve tried to tell but just stumble over their own feet at the attempt. Also the writing is kind of trash anyways. Oh well.

From what I can tell, it's not mechs, but powered armor - something that was super fun in the Tribes games and looks amazing in Iron Man, but hasn't really had a lot of games built around the idea.

The genre really appeals to me, but not enough to counter my aversion to BW.

I'm hoping they surprise me, but I'm not betting on it.

This game is probably going to be Bioware's swan song. The final nail in the coffin.

That was ME:A I don't consider this game to be a bioware game. No single player campaign, not narrative driven: Not bioware.

PS: And I think jetpacks ruin a shooter. Therefore I'm not 1% interested in this game even for gameplay.
