It's not even October yet, and snow is already coming to South Dakota. I'm guessing it's gonna be a long, rough winter this year.

I really need to get myself some light... shooting with a single speedlight is hard, lol.
These few turned out "ok" but were wide open at too high an iso. Look great on the web, but meh... not nearly as clean/sharp as they could/should be. Soooo many with way too short DOF and grain when they didn't need it. Just got lazy. Hell, I even left the card out of the camera, initially....

Just one bump up to 80D. Keep looking at 5DMkIV, but can't justify the cost for a hobby. And also thinking that 80D replacement is soon, so maybe wait for that, too.

Congrats on the new babyMy wife's due date is approaching very very soon (could be any day now, really) so my photography focus is going to take a pretty big turn here for a while. I will try to get out to do some winter landscapes here but it'll probably be a lot of newborn/family portraits for a bit. Last weekend, we returned to Sylvan Lake - where I proposed to her a year and a half ago - and did a maternity shoot. More to come!

Just discovered the dehaze slider in Lightroom, no idea how I’ve overlooked it this long...
Try the dehaze slider in the adjustment brushes, if you haven't already! You should be able to tone down the haze on the distant mountains a bit if you find it too distracting for your composition.
Agreed... I could see this on a road atlas or something. A little too much haze for my taste, but a great shot nonetheless. Do you use any filters for you landscape work, JStamsek?
