Who here Pre-Ordered i9 9900k thru Amazon?! Please post in here

gotta love all this.. intel publicly, "don't worry the 9900k will work on z370".... intel behind closed doors, "fuck that, make sure they can only buy it bundled with a z390"...

That would be NE, not Intel. Why sell one item when you can sell two? May not like it, but it's a smart move, and they still sell out as soon as they come into stock, so people are more than willing to buy, such as myself, as I had to get both anyway.

Newegg just sent me a txt saying my 9900k combo shipped!!! WHOOOOOOOOO!!!! Be here wendsday! Thank god I cancelled my pre order with amazon, i'd still be waiting. I have to say, this is the first time amazon shafted me

I don't blame Amazon, they can only sell what Intel ships them, I am sure they would love to have all those orders shipped already as well. NE seems to have the same issue as Amazon, it's just that NE reserved some for combo deals only. I am just glad I was able to get an order in somewhere and get it delivered.

Now I am looking at doing a all new cooling setup. The H220-X was not meant for a 220W+ load for sure, did pretty good on the 6700k, but it is past its ability once I start running 5GHz all cores 1.3v.

A full blown highend loop will surely be in order brother. My 9900k will be on its own loop consisting of a EK 420 60mm thick rad in push/pull using D5 pump with a Heatkiller IV Pro all copper block.... And my TitanXP is on its own loop as well using all same hardware.. I know the 9900k runs hot but other then adding a chiller in line, a loop cant get really any more highend then this, so we'll see how temps go. I think i have a rather realistic goal of 5GHz all core OC hopfully using less then 1.3v.. Ill find out wendsday when the cpu gets here, so please cross your fingers (y)..

This 9900k is half price of what I paid for my 5960x. It has also half the Memory Channels (2 vs 4), less Cache (16 vs 20), Less PCI Express Lanes (16 vs 40). I may have to wait for 10nm before I upgrade.

I have not had time to mess with mine, but I did a quick 1.3V and 5GHz, and everything was fine outside of temps, in a few minutes it was in the 90's, but I run slower fans, as noise is a big factor for me. I will probably finally be doing a custom loop, dual 280's for my case, debating on pump and res setup, as again, noise is a big factor for me, if I can find a good option with the dual 280's I should be able to keep noise levels where I am at or lower.

if you have the space, might be interested in this pump/res combo (have to add a d5 as it mounts to bottom of res and makes a nice 1 piece pump/res combo) Unit is completely silent and 250mm tube res holds a nice amount of water. of course they sell a smaller 150mm version too. Im using 2 of these, 1 for each loop. http://www.performance-pcs.com/alphacool-eisbecher-d5-250mm-acetal.html

and yet 9900k blows that 5960x out of the water.

It doesn't have the PCIe lanes or as much memory bandwidth for whatever use cases that matters.

My wife told me that to avoid pre-ordering hassles on Amazon, just order it for the Kindle instead.

It only launched 4 years before the 9900k... Which he has been enjoying 8 cores for a lot longer which was a better return on investment for sure. Not an apple to apples comparison at all.

Ordered since it was first available on Amazon, still not ship yet.

Newegg has been in stock on the other hand....

yes, if you click on a few of the "Combo's" that do say "out of stock" once clicked, some say "add to cart" so a little bug i guess! so if youre still in need of a 9900k, even tho some say out of stock, click on it, and it really isnt.

Newegg had some in stock earlier today (just the CPU not a combo) but they probably went fast.

I snatched an order earlier today refreshing NewEgg... once the 9900k is in my hand, I'm canceling my Amazon and B&H order.

Finally have this stupid thing. Too bad the bundle motherboard didn't show up today.

Here is a fresh OS install, and only a 5ghz all core OC and mem @ DDR3800 CL15 speeds.... How did I do?

AVX offset is set to "0" and i can careless about running prime, thanks tho. Also for whatever reason the voltage cpuz is reporting is WAYYYYY OFF! Bios is set to 1.28v and LLC is set where it doesnt droop at all.. For those of you with a MSI board, it is set to lvl3

Finally got an email that my order from Amazon has been shipped as of two hours ago! It's supposed to be arriving Tuesday, which has me a bit annoyed considering it's supposed to be two day shipping and I thought that normally includes weekends or at least Saturdays. Eh, I guess I should just be happy I'm finally getting it. I pre-ordered at some point a little after the show, when the product page was bouncing between in and out of stock and it still wasn't named properly on the Amazon page. Hope any of the rest of you that stuck with Amazon rather than just buying on NewEgg get your orders shipped soon.

I got a stinker. Couldn't get 5.1 w/ 0 AVX offset stable with my cooling solution (decent loop, new EK Velocity block). Probably just stick with this. Not like it isn't fast enough. 1.35v + LLC7 on the Maximus XI Hero.

Or you can sell it to me. :D

good to see amazon is finally starting to ship these out...

Wow, any idea how many phases the Max X Hero actually has?

ASUS should be ashamed. The Hero’s have been trustworthy boards. This damages the brand rep of ROG.
