Who here Pre-Ordered i9 9900k thru Amazon?! Please post in here

Just went on Amazon. They removed the 9900K from the search results, and if you go to the page manually it says "currently unavailable". WTH is up!?

Looks like confirmation this is an Intel paper launch to buy time until they can get production and yields up.
This is likely a super binned chip to pull off the clock speeds and power draw it achieves (quite good).
Amazon is usually pretty good about showing next incoming ship dates when supply orders come.
In this case, no updated ship date probably means no or limited supply coming any time soon.

Dude we get it, you LOVE your AMD stuff so why not move on to the AMD forum areas and stop trolling every intel related comment? I would think there are better ways to spend your time...so glad we have an Ingore option (just activated!)

LOL!
I may own a 2600X but I have more money in Intel stock than AMD.
Simply calling it as I see it. This launch is very similar to the 2000 series Nvidia launch (neither vendor really wants you to buy it, yet).

Ok, if we can all stop dueling banjos for a minute here. how long, based on previous launches, will it take for me to get my CPU?

Demand being so high that Amazon removed it from their site wowww. That's a first.

Like ever.

At least we know it's not a shortage issue or some sort of paper launch though.

I'm not a fanboy, I like all sorts of hardware, but this is a paper launch if I ever saw one.

is there something cheap I can get in a z390 board just to get up and running? I'm getting annoyed that I have nearly 4 grand worth of brick in my closet right now.

Might as well just wait rather than deal with replacing the thermal paste and heatsink, etc.. I think someone earlier in the thread mentioned the 29th, so we may not be waiting long.

grab a G series cpu so you can get everything running and working then plop in the 9900k when or if it ever ships.

i bought a i3 8100 while i wait to get the pc up and going, not a bad cpu and only 100$

well FML, still waiting. Its unreal amazon cant reach out to us and help us with some sort of approx shipping date, i mean WTF!

Ordered from NE this morning, still nothing from Amazon and NE still shows the CPU as OOS, but they had a few combos showing in stock, so I ordered and did over night shipping, will see if it actually ships out today. The mobo was not my first choice, but reviews seem ok and still fits my needs, so screw it.

*UPDATE*

Order went from verification to "packaging", with today as ship date.

Just got this email:

Same for me. I pre-ordered October 8th 4:43pm.

just a heads up y'all, if you go to newegg, and type in the search bar "9900k" look at the instock combo deals...... just sell the board when it gets to you, and you will end up the same at the end as far as money goes, but atleast this way you will have a cpu coming your way....

Yep, it seems NE has CPUs they are reserving for combos only, as the combos will come in stock, but the CPU alone will still be OOS. Extra money/sales for NE doing it this way. They sell out again in minutes however, but come in stock 1 or 2 times a day, just set up a auto notification and buy as soon as it does.

Mine is already on the way with delivery date of tomorrow.

Why is Newegg selling combos when people who preordered that processor on Newegg still have not had them shipped?

Do they? If so, I would email and ask.

Only thing I can assume is some sort of allocation to combo deals.

Looks like I should have never messed with Amazon, as I would have had the 9900K by now if I didn't.

However looks like my NE order will actually make it in today.

exactly, i say the same thing.. I figured amazon being WAY BIGGER E-TAILER then newegg that amazon would have recieved the 9900's is much larger quantity, but apparently my thought process was wrong... Newegg did something right for once.

I honestly think Amazon probably had more on order, but also probably had more preorders. I also think part has to do with it looking like NE reserved some of their CPUs for combo deals and most people were not searching for them and as such, not ordering as many, so there is a chance to actually buy one. The other factor with the combos is they can't be back ordered, while the CPU was preorder and back order from both NE and Amazon, making getting just the CPU a wait.

FedEx was on point this morning, I had to go home from work for a bit to put the package inside, took a minute to open everything up and grab a few photos. Going to put everything together this afternoon with any luck.

I ended up cancelling the pre-order on Amazon. After doing more research, I think I will be fine with the 8700K. There was almost no benefit for gaming at high res.

All the Newegg bundles are in stock right now. Broke down and ordered one, thanks a lot.
your welcome! They go OOS in just seconds... after "bluefireice" told me about it yesterday, i litterly stayed in front of pc hitting the refresh button for the newegg tab until i saw them in stock again and just bought the first bundle i clicked. Could careless about the motherboard, as I have my MSI MEG ACE here waiting... Wasnt fast enough the 1st time around as when I went to pay my shopping cart, said cpu was OSS already. waited another 45ish minutes, and they were magically back in stock, and repeated same process, and it let me complete my checkout and purchase... so hoping I see "Shipped" as my status come monday.. right now it says "packaging"

Please articulate the evidence for "excessively high demand". Prove it.
He's wrong. He either knows he's wrong or his handle is more apt than ironic. And he's already refused to twice now.

In other news, David, of my local MC said they only got two 9700Ks in. Their shipments come in Wednesday and Friday, so I'll continue my hunt.

If there was "excessive demand" on numerous past ocassions, then show some proof of that. Like any.

Not going to prove a negative for you, somehow.

Also, define what the hell "excessive demand" is.

You really don't get it? I'm not claiming that there is excessive demand- I'm asking for proof of the opposite, because that's what was claimed without proof.
