Call of Duty Black Ops 4

Just heed his forum title.

Using a controller may add aim assist like in Destiny 2. It still won't make you better if you're not used to using a controller in FPS games, and it defnitely won't help against those comfortable with keyboard & mouse. Limited turning speed is still one of the largest handicaps compared to a mouse.

Logitech F710 is like the Dualshock, but supports Xinput like the Xbox controller so it is natively supported by the majority of games (has a switch on the face to select between DirectInput and Xinput).

The F310 is the same controller, just wired instead of wireless.

Do you play with friends? If not, have you tried Solos?

Well the tick rate explains a lot.. heck.. sometimes you watch the play of the game at the end of the match in slow mo and the shots aren't even on the target... yet the target dies.

Anyways, still a little on the fence about this game. I feel as if I've almost been forcing myself to play the game in hopes that I'll enjoy it.

I’m enjoying MP because, well, ya just respawn when you die Dieded :)

To be honest, Blackout is so overrun with unicom’s I find it hard to enjoy it.

I’d love to see the MM take skill level into account and group like-skill players in matches.

I play blackout almost every night. I get wins every time I play. I also play MP a lot and am leading the leaderboard in matches 9/10 times.

I guess that "poor performance" only effects those that suck.

Does anyone like the Spitfire? They warn you it has high recoil and it's true. Accuracy is low. Not that you have to use it, but even to avoid picking it up off the ground in MP perhaps.

I'll grab it if it's the first weapon I come across and other players are near by. It's stupid fast rate of fire, but like you said it's not accurate. Very good for close quarters encounters.

My favorite combo is the VAPR and Koshka.

I'm so fucking inconsistent in this game.

One game I get 8 kills, next 2 I get 0-1. After that, I get 5, 2 more after that, 0.

The Lamar Odom of Black Ops 4.

That's normal. There's no consistency in any BR game as far as kills go. I've gone entire matches not seeing another player until the last circle. I've won rounds with 1 kill, or 10 kills. Just the way it goes. Sometimes I die with zero kills, other times I die with 10.

It was tough for me going from multiplayer mode games, like TDM and such, to a BR style game. My old habits of run'n'gun were hard to break. There are no spawn points to anticipate where players will be coming from. You really need to rely on your hearing and sight. Keep your head on a swivel and stay moving. Play the circle, rotate in around it. Most people run straight for it, so if you are rotating in around it you can come in on them from the side undetected.

While you're running around jump every now and then. It keeps you moving, but also make you quiet so you can listen for other players near you.

Ticrate is now up to 62 Hz in the standard MP. Can anyone confirm? I may contribute to Activision's gravy train now if that's the case.

People on the BO4 reddit have confirmed. I'm not finding any videos of it though. I played briefly last night and it feels good. Then again, it always felt good for me. Backout is still at 30 Hz for now.

same here, multiplayer felt pretty good the last few nights but it has always felt pretty good to me.

It's always felt pretty good to me, too. I've seen some wonky shit, but I have seen that in every single CoD.

It generally doesn't feel as bad now. Although i'll throw out there I believe the only reason they did this is that the player count has likely fallen off a cliff due to RDR2 coming out.

On the PC side, I am noticing that exiting and entering games, I get stuck with the same players over and over again. So it wouldn't surprise me if the PC player count has fallen significantly.

I haven't noticed that at all. If I leave a match and enter a new one I'm typically with all new people.

There has been some speculation that the east coast servers have significantly more players than the west coast.

Still terrible at Blackout. Single I've gotten as high as 5th or 6th. Quads is a shit show. Duos....dont even want to talk about it.
Don't worry, there is always someone (like me) who is worse. I don't think I've gotten a single kill in at least 20 games. I always play quads but maybe I should try solo.
This game has way too many game types and I feel that is a huge problem because soon, no one will be able to find a match since they have split their player base up so much.
At least I never end up with zero kills in TDM.

Played though all the Maps finally I'm level 12 or something I suck lol I don't rush in sometimes I'll follow someone else or a group and cover them while the other team fires on them I'll back them up ;) These one hit pink shotguns people have at level 53 or whatever really suck. They must be sprinting or the entire game some guy had a bad shotgun he hit me like 3 times I didn't go down.

Go solo, its better. Got to 2nd place last night. Flashbanged the guy, start putting shots on him, he dropshots me. FML.

Don't really worry. According to cod.tracker.gg, only about 30% of players have a kdr above 1.

Umm yeah, if you're a solo player playing in quads, you're going to get endlessly crushed. The biggest thing I've found that works to get a top 15 finish at least, virtually every time, is to wait until the last 5 seconds or so of the drop, then wingsuit as far laterally as you can away from the drop path (but pick the biggest group of structures you can so you know you'll get some loot.) Keep your head on a swivel so you can change course if you see someone is already heading towards your intended drop spot. If you do just that alone and stay alert, you will do at least decent. Of course there is always the odd chance that you didn't see someone dropping right next to you and they luck out with finding a weapon before you and dropping you.

On a semi-related note, what I really like about Blackout is that it's enjoyable and tense enough even if you're just keeping your head down, looting, and avoiding contact, because you still never know if there might be a sniper with a bead on you, someone hiding in a house you weren't expecting, etc. But just by playing smart (and not necessarily focusing on killing until you need to) you can have fun and make it to the top 10 pretty easily.

This game keeps causing my PC to reboot for some reason. I think it could be power related and will be installing a new EVGA 850 tonight. I hope that fixes it as I don't want to get a new graphics card.

Some asshole is spawning inside your case and shooting his way out :)

What I really dislike about blackout is the terrain, it doesn’t offer much cover except for a lot of trees which aren’t that great for a shooter with no lean mechanic. If you look at Ring of Elysium, the snow map has fantastic map design that offers really good terrain based cover that blackout simply lacks.

Overall BO4 was a lazy design, they recycled MP maps and Blackout tried copying erangel terrain and they tossed in old CoD maps as areas of interest on the BO map..very lazy. It’s unfortunate because the actual fighting is quite fun though the perks like dead silence and awareness are OP and should be removed along with the 9 bang.

Me? I simply can’t see a damn thing in this game. A bad guy can be 15 feet in front and of me and by the time I see him he nails me with his rail gun accuracy (wtf?)

If I do manage to hit him he’ll probably turn out to be a friendly.

I watch YT video’s of guys snapping from target to target killing them all and I never even SEE them much less shoot them.

I’ll stick with World Of Warships, where the targets are 1000 feet long, 75 feet wide, and don’t hop up and down all over the gd place.

Booyaa.

I gave my sucking ass at this game some thought and I with a little time and effort, I am now getting some kills.

First of all, I bought a new mouse. This one is pretty symmetrical. I had a mouse that was very curved where your thumb goes which added extra weight and always forced me to hold it at a weird ass angle (and I'd hold it differently each time). Just this helped a lot.
Raised my chair so my arm rests are about even with my desk surface. If nothing else, I have a lot less fatigue in my shoulder. I think it made my grip a lot more steady now since I am not having to support the weight of my arm.
Reinstalled Windows so Freesync now works on this 1080p/75hz display. Kind of pissed I had to do this, thanks AMD drivers. I'm playing it with vsync on. Frame rate dips sometimes below 75hz (high 60s) but now it doesn't get choppy as hell like it did when Freesync wasn't working. Vsync may add some lag that is imperceptible to me but now the game is 100% tear free and the frame rate is always smooth.

Finally got to level 5 in regular multiplayer so I can finally create my own class.

How do I get the pulse weapons in Zombie mode? I see everyone getting one, but me.

Edit - NVM. I found the "Pack a punch" perk.

I can't figure out why this game crashes everytime I try Blackout. I put the new power supply in and the same issues. I will play and then the screen will go black. I can hear windows make the noise like when you remove or add a thumb drive. Its almost like the PC drops the video card and the OS is still running in the backgroud. I have to do a hard reboot to get the video back. I can play other games for a long time with maybe a possible crash or instant reboot. I ordered a new 1070ti, hopefully this fixes it.

It's not your PC it's the game, does the same shit on 2 different rigs I have here. I originally had to disable Nvidia Experience in order to get it to work, but now even with it disabled it, still crashes. No warning, no given time. Could be right as I click blackout, or literally 10 mins into a game...

Tho, I do not have to reset, it just crashes and I'm right back at my desktop.

I don't have any crashes on my system.. Not even one throughout all the game modes. 2700X / 2080ti.

Try running it in borderless windowed mode. That's helped some people. Also, have the least amount of app running in the background as you possible can. Meaning, don't have any browsers open, close Steam, close everything that COD doesn't need to run. I think there is still a bit of a memory leak somewhere.

Also, make sure you have your paging file set to system managed and on a drive with enough space free to accommodate 1.5x you total system RAM.

you can also try dialing back on textures a bit. Turn off motion blur if it's on.

I've not had a crash since the patch a couple weeks ago. I also don't run at max settings.

any discounts available yet on this? Best I can see is 8% off at GMG.

Get the game while it's Hot because 6 months from now games might be hard to find except at peak times. Actually this game isn't for me it looks good but basically it's a punch of Beaders out honing me with their better gear that got from grinding. I can do good but not nearly as good as the top players who just focus on the mini map.
