just about all stocks are taking a beating.
Well, today is a bit of a rebound day, to be fair.
Not sure why AMD is off today...maybe because of the 'negative guidance' around crypto mining, but to be honest, it's often hard to say exactly when dealing with the Roulette Wheel that is Wall Street.

AMD missed on Revenue and Guidance was down.

mehh, they were "profitable" they did not have a "break out quarter" like the prior was 3 or 4 quarters?
but analyst and such should NOT expect every quarter year after year to be "above expectations" because even when it is, folks like AMD do not see the result of their share price magically shooting like a rocket unlike say someone like Nv or Apple whom can basically do what they want and share price (valuation) goes higher then it should (when dirty laundry is aired out)

Unfortunately the main competition for CPU (for most everyone, but directly AMD) Intel can really seem to do "no wrong either" is strange that no matter how many market wins and product shipped from AMD does not seem to really be cutting into the pie and Intel more or less seems to be holding steady..I call shenanigans, either the "reporters" are not privy to the same information, they find ways to skew results and so forth?

I find it very very hard to believe when AMD has shipped a metric shit ton of product over the last year and change posted some excellent overall revenue but yet is almost seems like they barely got a toe wet in the ocean o_O ?

likely it will bit me in the ass, but I ended up buying 27 more shares today, now sitting on 360 shares, small fish, I know, if I could afford it, I would have tens of thousands into them, but alas, am trying to live within my means and hopefully it "pays out" and helps the future Dragonstongue at least a touch ^.^

would be excellent if share price broke $56+ per share, that would be an over 200% gain..but, it is a lottery all it takes is for one analyst to say the right or wrong thing and the company in question to do the same and shares can burst or bomb at a moments notice, can just hope AMD continues to do well, main competitors shit the bed while analyst forget what they were doing LOL

You need to separate the AMD "stock" from AMD "the company" Bought in 9-14 got out at 25. It got ahead of itself needs perfection on the news to validate price in the 30's. Design wins dont create sales. Stability does and it will take a long time to build trust in the corporate arena again after AMD pulled out a few years ago. I have some short term holdings that I will keep, but I am mostly out now.

Lisa Su needs to get in front of the camera more for AMD in my opinion. She's doing great!

Agreed, and I think there are a couple major things she brings:

A solid tech background - she can make much better decisions on technical merit than finance-only types. Someone I know I had once said her best ability was her ability to identify BS. That's especially true at the CEO level.
Very low ego. She's always giving credit to the teams and not herself when people applaud any success they have. This really does energize the folks working hard in the labs to make a comeback.

A better buy will be NVDA after it gets done tanking out with the rest of the market.
