Call of Duty Black Ops 4

I played the beta. People like blackout better than pubg? I thought it ran better but felt pretty much the same otherwise.

Runs great for me, what problems did you have?

That it runs poor given the level of graphics. I get at least twice the frame rate at 4K in a more sophisticated and better looking game. There is no excuse for how bad this game runs in blackout mode.

Oh, and had I’d known about the 20hz tickrate there is no way I would have bought this game.

Apparently beta was 60hz and they’ve lowered it. Half a billion and won’t buy more temporary cloud space for release servers.

A lot of things were different between beta and release. Player count was also lower during beta, which may have accounted for the higher tick rate. I bet we'll see it go up. They're pretty aggressive with the patching and are listening to the community.

Sorry, In an age where cloud hosting is just a matter of money I don’t really give a shit as a consumer they are penny pinching over user experience. 20hz server rate is a joke. I’d return the game if I could. Stop making excuses for a game that has pulled in half a billion.

Yeah, I'm pretty frustrated. Bought a 144hz monitor ... loving it but getting tons of hits on dudes and they are not dropping .............................. wtf. Love the game but .......... I'll stop playing for now. Hope things change soon!

Honestly, no one knows the reasoning for Treyarch/Activision lowering the tick rate. To be fair the tick rate for Blackout went up from 10 during beta to 20 at release.

But you, and everyone else, can continue to speculate. Just like I'm speculating that it's a coding issue that will be addressed. I just wish they'd make a statement on it, one way or the other.

I'm not speculating anything. 20hz is unacceptable for the 12 player match modes on the already puny sized maps where everyone spawns on top of each other constantly. If they need to drop it for black out mode - Fine; The other modes the change is a joke.

What BR game is beautiful? I haven't seen a single one. You get a trade off with looks vs large BR style maps and gameplay. As for the rest of the game (MP/Zombies), yeah the graphics suck, welcome to Call of Duty. If you want pretty graphics, then Battlefield V is the game for you. As for the tickrate, I'm not happy with it either, it should be min. 60 Hz for all game modes but I knew from Battle(non)sense's original video that the tickrate was garbage.

Lol it has 20hz? Ok. Nm.
Same. Was actually considering buying the game until this news came out. I just love emptying full clips into people and not killing them while I get one shot when I'm behind a wall on my screen.

I take these game in short doses I can't play a first person shooter hours on end. So I just jump in a game maybe play 2-3 games then move on. You get fatigued playing hours on end unless your a 13 year old kid drinking diet coke.

popping back and forth between multiplayer and Blackout mode helps with that.

tick rate has been bumped to 30. According to Treyarch they'll be increasing it in increments.

It felt better last night playing / this morning - I didn't know why at the time, but this answers it. I was generally getting shot around corners and/or when moving to cover less.

Honestly though this is pretty lame - They are just making it seem like they are 'making improvements' for the good of the players when in reality they are likely just slowly waiting for the player counts to drop and then up the tick rate when they can.

They aren't actually doing anything.

They've been patching the game every couple days since launch. They're doing plenty.

My feeling, they lowered the tick rate for launch to avoid potential server issues with the rush of players. Beta didn't really represent the player count that launch day would see. I mean, I'd rather be able to play than constant server crashes and lag. Imagine the backlash if their servers constantly took shits at launch.

The right thing to do was/is pay for more cloud hosting. Instead they have a set budget, aren't spending more money, and are just adjusting the tick rate to player counts as they drop off.

Sure they are 'doing something' but haven't adjusted the budget to do the right thing for the consumer.

Damn everyone is like so good at this game except me overpowered everything I think it took about 5 death for me to take out the Helicopter the other team had.

Framerate isn’t an issue for me. I am more concerned with game balance, audio and tickrate but fortunately they’re addressing all of that. It’s pure greed that they released MP with less than 60 Hz and got caught.

I switched my gun out with the default and using a regular Assault gun now I'm doing better going to stay away from Domination for a while and play TDM. Finally getting K/D ratio even or better sometimes just below my team just usually just runs blindly and doesn't do anything I take my time. I'm going to stick with Gravity Spike though Trip Mines are hit and miss sometimes they stay up and nobody goes though the the Razer Wire doesn't do much of anything unless you want to section something off.

Yeah, they're not patching this game at all. /s

This makes 2 patches in 2 days, with the patch prior to these happening on 10/19.

Nothing to see here, folks. Treyarch isn't working on the game. They took your money and ran.

Does the Firebreak's reactor core affect what happens when they get shot?

Not sure. Personally, I think it's the worst class perk. You're essentially a sitting target while using it and the AOE is not large enough.

Patches aren’t fixing poor server performance. These are two different things. No one is complaining about patches.

I'm not getting poor server performance. In blackout or multiplayer. They did increase the tick rate and said they are going to increase it further in increments. So I'm not quite sure what you're going on about.

Read any number of posts. If you can’t figure it out I’m not going to be able to convince you that 30 tick rate is ass.

Slowly raising tick rate as player counts drop is garbage and an obvious money saving tactic.

Started playing with a controller again game is alot more relaxing.... some COD games work better with Keyboard and mouse but as fast paced as this game is.
I wish they would ditch the Mini Map I mean really I thought they were going to at one time.

Firebreak gets a damage reduction while using the ability. Additionally, anyone irradiated cannot heal for 15s after exposure which makes using him through walls/ceilings/floors a massive advantage to break a fortified position in, say, the Hardpoint game mode where the control location is indoors.

I have no idea what you just said, and is probably why I suck at this LOL

Plug in a USB X-BOX controller your K/D ratio will go up

Really. I'll have to look into that !

Edit: Is there a good controller for Win10 that has the sticks mounted symetrically? I hate the stick placement on the XBone controllers.

Just heed his forum title.

Using a controller may add aim assist like in Destiny 2. It still won't make you better if you're not used to using a controller in FPS games, and it defnitely won't help against those comfortable with keyboard & mouse. Limited turning speed is still one of the largest handicaps compared to a mouse.

Logitech F710 is like the Dualshock, but supports Xinput like the Xbox controller so it is natively supported by the majority of games (has a switch on the face to select between DirectInput and Xinput).

The F310 is the same controller, just wired instead of wireless.
