hate begging but its not a major part or anything...
anybody in canada have an asetek gen4 am3 retention ring and screws they could part with? i have the cooler, came off an intel setup, so no am3 stuff. since they're so common i was hoping someone might have one they'd part with for shipping and some good karma...
I could order one for $8US but that's like $50 Canadian pesos. ;)

If you can get it for $8 shipped, then you aren't going to get a better deal. I avoid shipping anything to Canada because customs is a nightmare and triples the cost at best.

which is why I asked "in canada". same potential issue ordering it.
edit its $8+shipping

well looks like I'm still in search of some 1gb ddr3 sticks and some 80gb and up drives. Still have most of the stuff available that i posted a page or so back.

I have a bunch of Socket 775 processors. Does anyone need those? If so, let me know here and I'll make a list of what I have. Even though I am in Canada, I don't see shipping being a dealbreaker on those.

I may have some. I think I have a 80GB 3.5, a 80GB 2.5 and maybe more. What exactly do you need?

Do you want DIMM or SODIMM memory?

I need full sized dimm. :)

The drives don't need to be exactly 80gb. Anything 80gb and up would work.

I got that. But how many? 2.5, 3.5, doesn't matter?

I have to sort through a few things and it would help to know =)

Do u have any ide 2.5" drives available?

I don't think I've come across any, but even if I did, IDE is below my recycling threshold, so to the e-waste bin it would've gone. That said, if I come across one, I'll let you know.

Anyone got a 2GB DDR2 laptop RAM and/or a 4GB DDR3 laptop RAM?

Just trying to max-out a couple of outdated laptops, 2009 HP G60t and 2011 Acer Aspire 5750Z for my mom and my aunt.

Thanks.

To make a long story short. I was given over a dozen c2D machines. all but two have a HDD and RAM so I'll take as many as i can get really. beggars can't be choosers.

No core 2 Quads floating around and dd3

Maybe some SATA drives larger than 200GB. 2.5 or 3.5

I have a low profile Nvidia Quadro NVS 300 you can have for cost of shipping. You will have to get the adapter cable for it. Supposedly it can handle a DMS59 to DisplayPort Cable Adaptor, DMS59 to DVI-I Cable Adaptor, or DMS59 to VGA Cable Adaptor.

I also have a nib Rosewill rhb-210 usb 3.0 hub, ********** Dcx-4u super charger and a cheap no name iPhone 10. Length is 5.75” so whatever iPhone 10 model that goes to.

I have a spare DMS59 to dual DVI-I cable adapter for anyone who wants to grab the Nvidia Quadro NVS 300. My adapter is a Dell P/N H9361 BIZ. I haven't tested the adapter personally, but the pins look good.

Be aware there is a very similar and older standard called Molex Low Force Helix which has the exact same connector, but has all 60 pins present. DMS-59 has one pin removed as a key, but not all video cards which use DMS-59 have a key and can allow LFH connectors to be plugged in.

I ran into this issue the past couple of weeks where I have a bunch of what look like Dell DMS-59 pigtails, but are actually LFH and the pinout is completely different and not compatible.

I'm actually running my HTPC on an old Abit IP35 Socket 775 with an E8400 (and probably need to open it up for cleaning). Do you have anything that would be a upgrade? Maybe on this list?

edit: I kept browsing that darn internet and descended down the rabbit hole of throwing Socket 771 Xeons in Socket 775 boards like mine. I'm probably set after ordering a trio of adapter stickers and a L5420 Xeon for under $5. I knew these older Xeon's were cheap, but this is cheaper than I'd expected. I wouldn't make a [H] member visit the post office at this price.

Good luck man - I had a couple of nice full towers just taking up space that no one here would bite on for just the price of shipping. Finally a local [H]er contacted me and took them both. It might help to list your general location.

I have two ancient machines, not sure if any interest in them.

The first is an Optiplex GX620 SFF (small form factor) which I refurbished, it had blown caps on the MB and in the PSU, which I replaced. The PSU was a PITA and took hours because everything was so cramped. I ran a couple of Linux distros on it and it seems to work fine.
It has a Pentium D 820 (2.8 GHz), 2 GB of RAM, slim CD-ROM drive and a floppy drive. It doesn't have a hard drive or the caddy, which is required for HD installation. These can be found on Ebay for cheap.

I was going to try and sell this and 3 other GX620s which I also recapped for cheap, but there's no interest in them. Be aware that while the machine is small, it's heavy and may make shipping expensive.

The second is a Pentium D motherboard/CPU/RAM combo. It's an Intel Desktop Board with a 945 chipset and has a Pentium D 945/950 with 2 GB of RAM. If more info is needed, I can pull it out of the case its in. I won't ship the case because it's a pain and expensive.

Both of these to CONUS only.
