Who here Pre-Ordered i9 9900k thru Amazon?! Please post in here

How many Intel paper launches is this in a row? I don't follow HEDT super closely, but 5000 series, 8000 series, and now 9000 have all been MIA. I don't remember if I had to wait to pick up my 7700K or not. 6000 and 7000 series were, of course, the same chips. And 8000 and 9000 are also the same chip as the 6000, just with more cores crammed together.

How many launches in a row have seen excessively high demand?

I'm seeing 579$ w/o tax on amazon... This is HEDT territory already. =/

My amazon cart says I paid somewhere about 350$ (also w/o tax) on launch week for my 4770K.

Yeah, I can't see more demand for Intel processors than during the bulldozer years. I sort of get the 6-core launch since it was the first core count upgrade for them in forever, but I can't imagine too many dying to go up to the $500 8 core.

sooooo, question.. I pre ordered this cpu back on the 9th for 529, am i gonna get billed 529 or the new "fuck me over price" of 579?

In before someone links Steam sales dominated by Intel iGPUs.

By the way, what ever happened to Juanrga?

it's against his religion to comment about anything intel screws up on.. his sole purpose in life is to shit on the AMD sub forum.. lol

that being said with intel screwing this up i'd actually be interested in seeing if sales percentages increase for the 2700x. sucks to see intel pull this desperation move to make sure the 9900k was "released" before the holiday season even though they knew they there was no way to could supply the processor.

the price you pre-ordered at is the price you should get charged.

i dont understand why amazon cant provide us a close to approx shipping date. someone somewhere deep in a warehouse there knows when this shipment is coming in.... this is just utter bs and im having to keep 600$ clear in my bank acct to cover this for when the magical day comes and they bill me, there will be enough funds.... this is total bs for customer service

because there are no processors.. lol.. i wouldn't be surprised if intel gave them a BS shipment date and never actually shipped anything. have you seen anyone other than reviewers with a 9900k yet(honest question since i only visit [H] these days)?

I have the same amount that you do. You made the claim, care to prove me wrong?

It should be easy to show any documentation of the make believe "overwhelming demand" you're on about ever having existed. I've not seen an article about the overwhelming demand for Intel's new shiny in quite some time.

Those of us who don't have the memories of fanboy goldfish might remember the distant past of almost exactly one year ago, when Intel was subjected to such quantum demand that it was like they never had more than a dozen 8700Ks actually available for sale anywhere in the world. I was going to dig up the threads from this forum of people bitching you couldn't actually buy one, but I'm busy.

Please tell me more about the overwhelming demand and ponies.

mindfactory.de has them expected for 26/10 for what it's worth, in my usual stores they are preorder except the 9600k which I seen one store have some in stock.

I pre-ordered from Amazon the day it was announced (at $529) but cancelled yesterday when it was still saying it will ship when in stock. I live in a tropical climate and didn't like the look of those thermals so I went with an 8700k instead. I also ordered a Z390 board (I'm still on Z170), hopefully this board will still work with whatever chip they release when they move past 14nm and get their temperatures back under control.

PS they didn't charge me before I cancelled.

I'm still waiting for the damn thing, might drive to the micro center to see if they have one. This is getting ridiculous.

I live an hour away from the MC closest to me. Otherwise I'd be there every day checking. everything else in my system is good to go.

you and i are the same... My MC is 62 miles 1 way away from me... When i go tho, i make it a worthwhile adventure and spend hours there. always neat stuff to touch

Sorry dude, but to a lot of people, AMD is ass. Sorry, but true. It's a good CPU and I'm glad that people that are on a budget have it avail to them but I know many many MANY people that only use Intel. $479 is a great price for 5Ghz 8 Core / 16 Threads. It's the number one worlds most powerful gaming CPU period. Let's get crystal clear about that right now and for you to suggest not many people would want to move to it ... I think you're crazy wrong.

Sure, we are splitting hairs, and only a few additional FPS here and there but when you buy the 9900K and pair it with a 2080 Ti and all the other high-end components that are out there for example 4400Mhz DDR4 or a Samsung 970 Pro, etc etc ... all those spitting hairs and few FPS start to add up hugely.

A 2080 TI? What is this "A" you speak of?

Reality check time. The 9900K is the ferarri of gaming cpu's. Yes, it's quite awesome as in the best gaming cpu.
But at over $500, it is not a mainstream product. Most PC gamers do not even spend that much on GPU.
The 9900K would be an absolute waste of money for any PC gamer utilizing less than a 1080ti or GTX 2080/2080ti.

Those with less GPU would be better off buying a 2700X or 8600K and spending the extra cash on 1080TI plus GPU.

It should be easy to show that this is a paper launch and not high demand. That's your claim.

And I bought an 8700k ;).
Can you not read your own nonsense after you wrote it? Where is this overwhelming demand? You're the only person who's ever heard of it.

The most useless of rants right here. The argument was if the Intel chips are in more demand than ever, not if a few people on here think AMD is ass as you put it.

As the gpu is usually the bottleneck, paying twice as much for a CPU and twice as much for ram will not "add up" to more fps.

Seriously, you are spending extra on an ssd to squeeze out more fps as well.

There is [H]ard and the there is re[T]...

High demand? I don't know, I just know mine isn't here yet so either intel is lying, throttling production, or it's true. I wouldn't be surprised either way.

High demand? I think Intel sold out their entire stock of exactly 12 9900k's within the first minute. I am reasonably sure this a availability issue and not as much of a demand issue.

I walked in a picked up my 2700x retail without issue. I am 99% sure AMD figured there would be extreme demand and had their supply ready. Where are you at Intel?

I'm not sure I agree here. A PC is a complex machine, with many parts. While the GPU is crucial for gaming, everything in the system affects overall performance, definitely including the CPU and RAM.

For example, not too long ago I upgraded from an i5-4590 to a i7-4790K and from 8GB to 16GB of same speed RAM. Even in games that appeared GPU limited, I noticed around a 10 - 20% boost in performance (which is key when you go from 50fps to 60fps).

I also upgraded a Ryzen rig from 2400 speed RAM to 3200 speed RAM and saw a smaller, maybe 5% boost in fps. I know 5% is not huge, but if you tweak out your system and get 5% here, 5% there, it does add up.

Just went on Amazon. They removed the 9900K from the search results, and if you go to the page manually it says "currently unavailable". WTH is up!?
