John Bain, otherwise known as TotalBiscuit in the gaming community, will be inducted into the Esports Hall of Fame at ESL One Hamburg 2018. He will be the first non-player inducted. TotalBiscuit was well known for his gaming reviews on YouTube, gaming podcasts and WoW Radio. The "Cynical Brit" formed a professional StarCraft 2 team called Axiom and was involved in the esports industry with various roles. He passed away earlier this year after a long and public fight with cancer.

A true gaming legend will be inducted into the Esports Hall of Fame presented by paysafecard during ESL One Hamburg 2018 at the end of October - John Peter "TotalBiscuit" Bain. His influence on the esports scene can not be understated as his passion and support helped drive various competitive titles towards the heights they reached today. He left behind a body of work unmatched by any other while still managing to give a voice to indie scenes and breakout players.

The man had integrity and passion. He put a lot of money and sweat into the e-sports business and I loved how fond and supportive he was of StarCraft 2. Unwavering, unapologetic, competent.

I remember when he was new to the SC2 scene and people poo-poo'd him for not knowing this-or-that. It never threw him off, he kept charging at it and became really good.

I'm elated he's getting this honor, he deserves it.

As a gamer he was an influence. Love him or hate him he was/is one of the first of our pc gaming/YouTube culture revolutions.

He will be missed

I've always liked the guy. He was one of those very, VERY FEW "yup, that's exactly what I think" guys. I like Quake, StarCraft, Doom and games that remind me of them. At one point I've noticed that I'd stopped visiting the gaming section here on [H] a long time ago. Stopped reading the gaming section on NeoGaf, too. It's not that I don't play games. On the contrary, I play just as much as I did 10 years ago, but I no longer feel any connection whatsoever between me and vast majority of the people who "game". This guy made me feel that I am not alone.

You're sorely missed, mr Bain.

I mostly use youtube for watching GSL/ASL these days. I was very surprised to find out his channel had been all SC2 for quite a while before he left us. Should've watched more of him.

There's a certain bunch who won't be happy with this news. I'm thinking of those who danced on his grave when he passed.

I can't understand the whole concept of e-sports in games with auto-aim, on consoles, played at the lowest settings to make the hitboxes bigger.

I'd love to have them drop into one of our Q2 lan games, just to see how bad they suck.

I've played against fatality, back in the day, and he was actually good, but he didn't win the game we were in.

I agree with this comment, very very much. It was different back then and how I miss it so.

I miss the guy actually he would be one of those guys who always grabbed the spot light with his reviews.

Good. There are few, if any like him, and the world is a worse place without him.
