Guys/Girls, just wondering who here pre ordered the i9 9900k from Amazon, as I have a few questions.....

1) Did amazon already take the money out of your acct??

2) Do we have any clue when these will ship, I can only guess the 19th IF WE ARE LUCKY...

And just a FYI, I called amazon support and asked the above question about when it might ship, and the very nice support worker told me they have no idea when the product might ship.

I also called microcenter and they of course cant tell me when the cpu will show up for sale on their site/stores, and have no pricing data to share at the current time.

So, please post in here if you pre ordered thru amazon and if you can help with any of the above questions.

thanks

Amazon charged my card yesterday. They just updated inventory on their website, they should be shipping any time now.

ive yet to get charged and i pre ordered the first few minutes it went up

Didn't realize my water block + memory order was the exact same dollar amount as the CPU, that's the charge I saw. My bad, ha.

I did. This may be a different take from you guys, but I hope they don't ship for release day delivery, so I can cancel if the benchmarks that come out on Friday are bad.

Edit: I also ordered on the 11th, not the paper launch day.

i have been charged but not shipped.. amazon does not charge you unless they are going to ship so i wouldnt worry.
If you are charged you should get a chip.

You can always return it if you are unhappy with it.

I pre-ordered through B&H instead of Amazon because of taxes. It wonder if any of our orders will tomorrow.

I still have nothing. Amazon, please dont drop the ball

now amazon is showing the 9900k "OUT OF STOCK" where as for the past 10 days it was "PRE ORDER NOW" so maybe those of us that got in early enough will get the 1st shipment..... Crossing my fingers

Link posted on forum for [H] review. Looks like embargo lifts at 0800 today, so that may be when they go live for sale?

The 9000 series has AVX2 support? Is there anything that uses it yet?

Is anyone getting a 9700K? I'd think those will probably overclock better on average?

Amazon oversold the shit out of the 9900K. I wouldn't expect one anytime soon. Mine is supposedly coming in December.

But then again, CSR doesn't know anything. It could ship in 20 minutes.

Amazon rep. I'm sure December is probably not too accurate (at least I hope not) but I do assume this means I shouldn't be expecting anything to ship today.

MC doesn't even have the 9900k listed, and the 9700k is OOS, only the 9600k is in stock and it only shows 4. Wonder if the 9700k will be better at OCing. Extra cores are nice, but I have a few programs and a game that could really see a boost from faster single thread, so it might be better for me to step down if they OC a good bit better.

well this sucks.. has anyone seem them at microcenters? looks like a fucking paper launch

nothing at my local mc sadly, just have the 9600k in stock

I preordered a few days ago and it hasn't shipped. I'm not aware of any retail stores having any.

so it is a paper launch then.. gg

Yep. I think so. I'm also waiting out for the Asus Maximus XI Formula which I can't find anywhere either.

im gonna head to mc tomorro eitherway and buy the cheapest celeron (G4900) to stick in my new board so atleast i can finish the cooling loop and get a pc going. gonna be funny having 32gb ram @ 3600MHz on a MEG Z370, and a Titan XP using a celeron processor

ShopBLT has been a good source in the past and this is what they are showing for an ETA.

I have a 9900k preordered through amazon. I also have a RTX 2080ti that will be here Monday. I'm not going to lie, the 2700x is starting to look like a very good option at this point. Especially since I can have it built on Monday when my card comes where as right now I cant even get the motherboard I want, much less the CPU from intel.

Yep, bummer. Wanted a project this weekend. Plan on returning parts for this build and canceling the 9900k I suppose, not like I really need it.

Second 2080 Ti it is, boys.

Haha talk about not needed. :D

well, as soon as I get off shift here, im heading to MC to get a i3 8100 to place in my MEG ACE so atleast I can finish up the waterloops and have a little something to use for a game or 2 while i wait. 110$ cpu shouldnt be to bad of an idea and play FC5 "ok-ish"

Just getting caught up on this. Purchased a 9900K from Amazon this morning (they will ship when in stock).

Hope the wait isn't too long (though really, I don't need the CPU, just was in the mood to spend money).

This long ship delay is going to have me rethinking the 2700X again. I haven't run an AMD rig in years and the time might be coming. I'm not too worried about the 9900K pricing....it is not value conscious,. but I AM certainly concerned with availability. Paper launches are ridiculous.
