After hearing EVGA's fixed their Vdroop problem, this is going to be my board for the next 5+ years. Only I keep periodically checking their storefront page and sorting by 'highest price' waiting for it to pop up, and no dice. Anyone got any information about the release date?

Just an FYI, someone (maybe you) asked that exact question during Friday's TEAMEVGA live stream. JacobF suggested the z390 dark would be available in 4-5 weeks.

Any idea on the expected pricing? its a solid looking board, Im debating between this and the aesthetics of the blacked out nzxt N7 z390

yep thats about right. from anandtech-the EVGA Z390 Dark will likely be landing towards the end of October or possibly in November sometime. they didnt have any pricing info yet.

with all of the z390s that are already selling or will be in a few days/weeks, they are going to lose their asses if thats the soonest they can get them to market. that is a sweet board too. oh well asus and msi have some monsters to...

That's probably the downside of EVGA not being a major player in motherboards, their orders don't get priority, even if they have a good following.

However, with the z370 FTW being as low as $120 recently and the z390 FTW going up for sale at $230 tonight, I shudder to think what that z390 dark is going to run.

i agree, and being that they are so much smaller it just takes more time for them to release just about anything cutting edge. they are always behind the curve but i think they do a good job of making up for it with their customer and tech support. not to mention the step up program and the long ass warranties they offer. i was just talking to a guy that has 10 yr warranties on his mb and gpus. not sure how much it cost him either so...
being that the x299 dark was initially $500 ($400 currently) id bet the z390 will be right there with it, OUCH!

My EVGA p67-sli and gtx970 are still under warranty, not the greatest board but got the job done and OC’ed fairly well. Hard to beat the peace of mind with the warranty. It was 30$ for the board and $50 for the gpu, extra 7 years on both.

Yeah, it wasn't me who asked, but what I'm worried about price-wise with this board is the 17 phase VRM. The only other Z390 boards packing power delivery like that are close to $500.

The inclusion of the Creative sound chip will likely add at least $20-30 to the board as well. EVGA also needs to release detailed info about the clearances of the socket so people can start divining what HSFs will work, since I really don't like CLCs, and don't feel like spending a small fortune on custom loop...on top of the small fortune I've already spent/yet to spend.

Nearest I can figure, the Noctua D15S *should* work in its default single-fan config, and *might* work in dual fan if the extra fan is the 120mm in lieu of another 140mm. I'm also looking into single-fan/single-tower C-style coolers, but I'm worried that'll limit overhead. I really wish they'd *not* gotten cute with the socket.

And yeah, the reason I'm considering the DARK board over the others is because I *really* like the idea of getting a ten year extended warranty on it. That means when my 9900K starts to feel long in the tooth, I can try squeezing the maximum amount of juice out of it and still feel secure the board is covered.
