hello

I have been using the Logitech K800 for many years and soo happy with it. only issue I have is the keyroll when I play games I cannot press many keys at the same time

so I went to the market and bought the highest end Logitech keyboard G910.

everything is beautiful and easy with this new keyboard its just I am not used to this kind of keyboard buttons ! the gap between the keys is so big and make me make mistakes when I write fast without looking at screen. may be it will take time until I get used to it god knows.

question is, is there any gaming keyboard not mechanical that have a smooth keys like the K800 ? and I prefer that it has macros option also.

thank you

I suspect you'll rapidly get used to the mechanical keys and eventually prefer them. Maybe not though since it really is a personal preference thing- there's a reason though that mechanical keyboards are sought after and why the IBM model M was coveted for so many years (used on Amazon for $125+ currently).

It just takes some getting used to is all, it was a strange transition for me as well. Now it's strange not using mechanical.

There are 2 different 910 keyboards from Logi - the Spark vs the Spectrum IIRC. The Spectrum has the funky faceted keys that I could never get used to, but the Spark has more traditional keys.
I hope you didn't get the Spectrum, because that was a funky keyboard to get used to.

I just upgraded to my Hyper X Elite from my old Logitech G11. I didn't care much for the keys at first but am starting to get more comfortable now. I'm sticking with it.

It takes time. Personally, I've found the Razer keyboards with Green Key switches the easiest to migrate to. They are kinda noisy though.

And you are right. The K800 is an AWESOME keyboard, but the key rollover is fucking horrendous.

I think the K800 is otherwise the best general office keyboard on the market.

I did too back in March.

Yes. And the keys are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too sensitive. I could not even rest my fingers on the keys. When I did ... I'd be unwittingly typing ddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd.
Quite annoying.

I also had problems with the poorly located extra-function keys on the left. They were in the way. And, when reaching for the ESC key I'd instead hit the topmost function key by mistake. More annoyance!

It's also noisy. So after a week of torture I took it back. Best Buy gave me a full refund.

I, too, would like to know. Mechanicals are clearly a no-go for me. The only problem I have with my current K350 (I have three of them) is that the keys start to rub after a while.

Spray silicone lube under the keys didn't help. I'm tempted to try again, this time with a suitable grease.

I'd really like to get these keyboards back in shape because they're ideal in all other respects ... as in (a) curved key layout, (b) wrist band, (c) quiet, (d) lots of extra function keys, (e) wireless, (f) low cost ... $50 including the mouse ... and I think the price has dropped since I bought my first one three years ago.

I found that white lithium grease solved my problem. I bought an 8 oz. tube of Lucas Oil lithium grease. Only $5.

I removed all the keys, lubed the perimeter of the "stubs" under each key, and replace them. The keyboard now types as smooth as glass. And it's quiet, too.

That is backwards, Spectrum has the normal keys and the Spark has those faceted keys.
I am using the Spectrum since I didn't care for the keys on the Spark.
The WASD keys are normal keys, they just have that design printed on them.

My bad! I knew there were 2 I just couldn't remember which was which :-D

If you have a Microcenter or other computer store near you, go there and try them out in store. I find some mechanical keyboards feel a bit off. I think Logitech is one of the weirder ones IIRC. I love my Razer Blackwidow, and I love typing on keyboards with Cherry-MX green keycaps and similar. There are also hybrid keyboards like the Razer Ornata https://www.razer.com/gaming-keyboards-keypads/razer-ornata but I'm not sure how good they are.

I think you should just find a mechanical that is more suited to your needs. Membrane keyboards suck in comparison.
