Hi,

I installed my 970 Pro into a heatsink enclosed pci-e card before I could take baseline temp readings. So was wondering if anyone with a 970 Pro could share your temp readings from HWinfo after running AS-SSD benchmark to warm up the drive?

Thanks.

Heres mine:

I have a 960Pro with EK heatsink and it sits between 40-42C. I run my case fans low speeds (400-800) though because I want extreme silence so if I bump them up temps improve. When on load the fans speed up of course to maintain sufficient cooling capacity.

Yes but what the hell will you be moving at 2.500-3000 MB/s for over 133 seconds???

The 970 evo in my laptop after running crystaldiskbench is at the same temp, 41C

Backups. Game loading.

Game loading is not 3GBs X 133 seconds (390GB) - and loading time in games is not a huge amount of sequential reads - a lot more contributes to the loading delays such as decompression tasks.

And backups? You mean backing up from A: Source 970 EVO to another 970 EVO? Because if you are transferring to a mechanical drive that is the usual destination for backups these speeds are not even relative at all. Yes, there might be SOME people with big 4TB NVME SSDs that do this but you would still need two of them and the cost is not making it worthwhile. Not to mention wear and tear...

That is why those speeds are pointless for the vast majority of users and I can't wait for Intel 900 Series SSDs to drop in price.
