Best game intros?

Older game, my first experience with cd-rom and gaming. Beautifully done artistry and first class voice acting. Ys Book I and II for the Turbografx CD.

I don't wanna be reported for trolling so I'll ask the question first:

Does a game like Pong count? Some of us want to just get right into the action and anything getting in the way of that is annoying... Hit "Power" and you start playing is the best "Intro"...?

The Skyrim intro with the Macho Dragon Mod (or the Really Useful Dragons mod) is just epic lol

However, beyond the intro, those mods get old quick.

"What's a man gotta do to get that kinna attention from ya?" ADVENTURER! LARA STAMPS OUT BIGFOOT!!! "It's hard to say exactly, but you seem to be doing fine." "Well, great, though truth is it ain't me that wants you." "No?" "No. Miss Jacqueline Natla does, from Natla technologies. You know, creator of all things bright and beautiful." "Seal it Larson. Feast your eyes on this Lara. How does that make your wallet rumble?" "I'm sorry. I only play for sport." "Then you'll like a big park. Peru. Vast mountain ranges to cover. Sheer walls of ice. Rocky crags, savage winds, and there's this little trinket. An age old artifact of mystical power is buried in the unfound tomb of Qualopec. You could leave tomorrow. Are you busy tomorrow?"

Youn - I very seriously doubt that you ever played any of these games & you are just a troll.

You did a search for best / worst game endings and went forward w/ this stoopid shit.

If you actually played any of this shit you have posted - you must really be "something special" for mom & dad.

~ troll-lo-lo-lol-lo-lo-lo....

lol.... oh wait, are you serious? so I'm a bit old school and have fond memories for older games and maybe took it too far with an attempt at some light-hearted humour in that other thread (although I did play and enjoy those endings) and you are trying to get me banned or something? I can't... decide if you are serious or not... if you're serious, I'm seriously sorry for hurting you dude :( I wasn't trying to give you a hard time at all...

Great intro... not so great game (but I kinda enjoyed it, especially the environment design)

Never beat this game, but the intro really hooked me in (haven't played 2 or 3 yet):

Perhaps for the soundtrack alone:

Maybe only because FMV was brand new then, but this blew me away instantly when it was released.

The only thing I liked more than this game, was the 1984 movie. Probably the first game/intro where I heard digitized voices.

The first Need For Speed was great and all, but I like the II one's intro the most.

Nothing special but it was the presentation with the music, and this was the first rally game I played where you could start to talk about realism, so the real rally scenes were appropriate

This was is, the coolest thing, with the FMV prelude, and then with the chronosphere sound effect comes the intro and hell march, probably my favorite intro of all times

the old Daggerfall intro still pops in my head to this day...

also, the first time we plunged down into Rapture. That was pretty amazing for the time. Won't bother linking it, as I'm sure it's still fairly fresh in people's minds..

This is more of a "most nostolgic intros" thread :)
Like Daggerfall and others from that time period, the limited storage space forced devs to get to the point as soon as possible... it was a nice sweet spot IMO
