Dragon Quest XI (Release date: 9/4/18)

I enjoy reading MEN complain, while my twitter feed of WOMEN enjoy the game. It amuses me.

Keep white knighting there folks.

Get it and get it fast because it makes the game what it should have been all along. Now it feels like a finished product. Incredible.

Just finished the main story line over the weekend.. This mod will make the post game content much more enjoyable :D

Oh, and for anyone interested, Kaldaien has this Special K mod that adds HDR support

Just beat the true final boss. Was the first time I game overed the entire game. I was lvl 99 with most of the beat gear too. It was pretty enjoyable.

1. I don't know if you are an anime fan but think Dragon Ball Z set in a medieval fantasy setting with more humor than power level e-peen fights.
2. JRPGs are usually dialog heavy. Most newer games, with voice acting, auto advance the dialog. But you have to understand Dragon Quest is the grandfather of JRPGs and sticks to its old timey ways a lot.

Enjoy the experience and if you want to play more JRPGs feel free to ask for recommendations based on you preferences.

I've played a lot of JRPGs and don't remember any of them being dialogue heavy. When I think of dialogue heavy, I think of CRPGs such as Baldurs Gate or Planescape Torment.

So you came from a background of playing games with lots of dialog. Perhaps the person I was originally replying to has no such background?

Fuck if I know, but if they think DQ is dialog heavy then one could forgiven for assuming they are not used to reading much text in their preferred genre of games.

TL;DR: Tomato Tamato

I'm creeping in at 100 hours on this thing. One thing I can say is that there's quite a bit to do. I think the Post Game stuff isn't as well structure though...or, at least, it feels they cut a bit of corners. The majority of the game has a pretty solid pace and structure. You can tell it's designed carefully and points the player in a generally progression. So, you're constantly in the midst of doing something. Towards the end, it starts to hide more of the material and it feels as though they didn't put a budget into some of the quest lines. It's kinda hard to talk about without spoiling it, though I predict if you're in the end game stuff that I'm in, you might agree? It's not Xenogears Disc 2 bad...but like, it definitely feels like they cared a bit less on some of them.
