RTX2080 and RTX2080Ti Reviews online

Turn your head around and look away from your computer display or mobile device into the real-world.... there's your Ray Tracing ON :p

Yep, DXR isn't available yet unless you're a Microsoft Insider and no games have ray tracing enabled yet.

Don't read the reviews until [H] post. Don't part with your hard earned money until trusted third party retail samples are reviewed.

I'm just wandering where haste. is now that the numbers aren't hypothetical? :p

So basically the RTX series is nVidia's Vega, if 7nm is right around the corner they might want to cut prices unless they want to add to their 1000 series pile up lol...

Definitely glad I bought a 1080 ti when I did. Not feeling any interest in side-grading to a 2080 or spending double what I paid for a 30% increase. I was expecting performance to be a little better.

The more I think about this the smarter I believe NV is. Sell a limited run of 12nm cards to get some more profit out of your custom node, price them high so your EOL cards sell off. Release 7nm cards for next holiday season.

Considering that the cards are being tested on early drivers, they are indeed quite fast. Especially considering that the GPU that it is being compared to the most, the 1080ti, is sitting on two years of driver optimizations. The performance is only going to improve as the drivers mature.

This has been debunked time after time. There will be no miracle driver. Performance is what it is right now.

I'm hoping I can cancel my order I just did so I was hoping for like 10+ in 1440P but all the games were TIE no point in spending that much on a card that doesn't do anything over the 1080ti at all excet for ray tracing.

update:
Newegg - Pre Order/BackOrder Cancelled

Seeing is believing, until AMD releases that 7nm GPU that can go toe-to-toe with Nvidia's flagship product, you're not going to get anything newer from Nvidia for another 2 years.

Looking at it from a 980ti standpoint: goddamn that's a lot of horsepower.

Still looking at it from a 980ti standpoint: I can't sell a kindey right now.

I was wondering why they released both cards at the same time. :woot::woot::woot::woot:

I was ready to give up a kidney, but decided to cancel my 2080ti pre-order. I'm planning to do a complete rebuild when the new Intel i9's come out. Planning to reevaluate the GPU scene at that time. For now, it's an unfortunate pass.

The 2080ti was never a realistic candidate for me but I was looking at the 2080 or perhaps 2070. The Gamersnexus review and eventually [H] will confirm that there isn't enough of a separation from the 1080ti to bother with. Unfortunately I think this will also stabilize/increase to a small degree the cost of second hand 1080ti's.

edit:
I will say, however, that they did a hell of a job with the FE cards with power efficiency and cooling overall.

Three times I went all in and bought two of the flag ship cards - GTX 480, GTX 680 and GTX 780

The last two times I spent about $1400 and was pretty happy with the performance (especially running 1080P surround)

If the 2080Ti was $799 or maybe $899 I'd buy it no question and depending on scaling, I'd think about buying two.

However, it's going to be very easy to ride my 1080Ti for another year or so.

Nvidia needs to offer a better deal.

It sounds like I wouldn't gain enough to justify the cost and 2080Ti would be slower than my current SLI setup in games where SLI scales even a modest amount. However, two RTX 2080Ti's may be another matter. Although, I don't think we know anything about how they'll scale as a multi-GPU solution. Even at %100 scaling it sounds like we would have the type of performance increase people expected from a single card this time but at a ridiculous cost.

That's very disappointing, especially given the high price.

Exactly. The performance wouldn't be that bad if the 2080 was $600 and the Ti was $800.

An expected 25% increase in performance for higher TDP and much higher prices. No progress for the GPU market and lower vfm for us customers. Bad gen in general. Let's see what the 7nm will bring us in 2019.

I just can't wait till everyone on the "they have to lower the msrp" get a dose of "T A R I F F S". Been talking about this in all threads and people in here think they are going to lower the price of these cards? No offense folks, but are you daft? We, the pc community, keep getting hit with major bullshit bombs.

#1 Ram prices are still hiked way the fuck up from 2 years ago.
#2 Crypto mining bent us over for over a year on purchasing new GPU cards.
#3 Now because you all are in revolt the card prices are going to magically come down with TARIFFS looming? I want my UNICORN and kool aid too, please!!!

And the rocket scientists here that said drivers will increase over time? Really? So the card has been in Silicon for over a year to develop drivers for all the way up to launch but were going to get some massive improvements over the next year! MAGIC SAUCE IS HERE!!! Hillary and Bernie are over here in the corner with your Unicorn, Kool Aid, and Magic Sauce!

Waiting is never a good option as I have always said. Could have gotten a 1080Ti Black Edition like mine for $649 over a month ago and been enjoying it at a lower price. Nope, now you get to play the used card "honestly, my card was undervolted for mining bs" and hope for the best.

With these disappointing numbers, SLI is going to make Nvidia a killing. With the mass amount of preorders that went up, maybe a max 10% cancel, while over the next two weeks most will hit the buy button again. $20-80 SLI bridges, oh yeah baby. Buy baby buy.

Why Snowbeast? Why are we doing this? Because we ARE PC MASTER RACE, that's how we roll! (like dummies with excessive amounts of money for this hobby) :sneaky:

Well if you buy them at launch...use them for an avg of 4 hours a day and upgrade to a new card every 2 years....it only costs 50 cents a day for the card...at least that's my way of justifying the 2080ti.

Spoiler alert. Damn they are fast. Whether they are worth the price is another issue, bud damn fast.

You guys are delusional. The performance blows. Please point me to another time in nvidia history where the price went up by 70% while performance increased by 20. Early drivers or otherwise. Heck point me to a time when performance went up 20% and the price stayed the same, early or otherwise.

Why even bother with the Nvidia pre orders at this point? If we have to wait until October or November for games to even have RT enabled then we may as well wait for EVGA custom boards to come out. Why have the reference cards when it doesn't get you anywhere?

Well reference cards do tend to be better if your watercooling since that is what most of the waterblocks are designed for. Doesn't stop the cards from being crazy overpriced though.

Well, I just canceled my 2080 pre-order and bought a used 1080Ti. Seems like the prudent thing to do at this point. I'll revist the 2080 series again when the prices are reasonable for the performance offered.

Up to 7 reviews watched. 5 were hard do not buy and 2 were basically that just but not as hard. Still waiting for Kyle and the gang to see how [H] they get. :p

Two years between the 10 and 20 series and all we get is a 2080 card that just barely sits above the 1080 Ti? That likely puts the 2070 performance comprable to another current gen card, maybe the 1080?

I get that RTX is in it's first generation and it'll eventually evolve but the damn price tags on these things....holy crap. Talk about early adopter tax.

You made the right decision for this point in time. Once DXR/DLSS games are out you can see if it's worth a reconsideration at that time.

There's a reason why they released the Ti immediately.

I can' believe anyone is surprised or disappointed. The fucking tight lipped bullshit, NDAs, and reviewer bullying gave it all away instantly. If these cards had had good performance, they would have been bragging about it from every corner of the world as early as possible to hype it up like they did for every other good card in the past.

Don't be fooled by these shitty companies.

The prices are just too high. The products are good.

GTX 980 was $549 and 970 was $329 and it wasn't 20% faster. Or people skipped them.

I was hoping the 2080 would be better to drive the 1080ti price down more. I think the 1080ti (USED) may see a price hike now.

So about what I expected. Definitely not cards for most but I wanted a bit more 4k and VR performance and definitely wanted to play with RT and all of the new stuff. Is the 2080 Ti worth $1200? Maybe not but I figured at worst I'd sell my 1080 Tis at $400 or so and make up the difference.
