I'm looking for an internal Dell H700 PERC that has the 1GB cache module. It would be great if it also came with cables and a newish battery since I am replacing a PERC 6/i. Please PM me with offers, thanks!

which server model are you looking for (im guessing R710?) and/or what part number of the perc card (XXFVX?)

So, I don't have one for sale, but I do have some interesting links for you.

ServerSupply.com has some good prices on refurb RAID cards from Dell. You can look for your specific preferred H700 on this list.

With that said, screw the H700 (which is based on the LSI 2108 chip) and get the 9265-8i (based on the 2208) instead. This is the exact part I purchased, I got the refurb unit with the battery for $75. Works great. Assuming you're actually interested in the RAID performance, and I assume you are since you specified the 1GB cache version, then the 2208 cards are essentially dual-core versions of the 2108 cards.

Awesome, thanks for the info! I am definitely interested in a higher performing RAID array, and is indeed why I am looking for the 1GB H700. I'll have to take a look at some comparisons.

Well, I definitely recommend the 9265-8i then :) I've got a 12x 3TB RAID6 array on it right now, a mix of 5400 and 7200 drives from random manufacturers and models and connected via a 3Gb/s SAS expander. My array was built around capacity and pricing (got the drives free second hand, and the SAS expander for $15), and this is what a CrystalDiskMark looks like:

This is plenty respectable, and were I on a 6 Gb/s SAS expander and uniformly 7200 drives it'd be better.

As an owner of an H700 in my plex server... do what sinisterDei says. I'm only using one because it was free. It works but it's a mixed bag performance wise. If you're copying bunch of medium/small size files it flies. Throw 5tb of MKVs at it and you can hear the choking noises come from inside the server.

If you want cheap I have an H200 you can have for $20, looks exactly like this one: https://www.serversupply.com/produc...Ud2BZCqaUzNyauQ-gNGU6qoA68nN0E6kaAov-EALw_wcB

This is my H700 with 4 x Toshiba 6tb 7200 sata drives I shucked out of external enclosures. Looks like my H700 has a 512mb cache. Those speeds look good, but I know it's a lie. Raid 5.

Yeah those numbers don't look bad at all, especially for four drives. Mine is likely a bit more performance resilient, despite my crappy mixed drives and such, just because I do have 12 spindles working for me. I'm in RAID 6 though, with its significantly harder write penalty.

bump! Still looking for a new raid card to stick in this T610. PM me if you are selling!

SamirD that's crazy expensive for what it is, thanks though

All pms responded to. Currently pending a deal on a LSI 9265-8i.
