Far Cry Classic (PC version) for 57 cent

This game has some massive bugs last time I tried playing it. Specifically the AI shoots at you threw anything and everything at some parts. I don't remember that being a thing in the original game but it's been a long time since I played the original on a 9700pro...

Can this be used legally here in the US? I am with most here that the game was awesome until the horror showed up but at a less than a cheeseburger, i would get it as I also don't know where my old copy went.

Hell, I wouldn't mind spending a few dollars on some of those less than 10 bucks shooter games that I probably lost the cd or dvd

Yes, it is not region locked, and it has no real DRM. Their installer is a pre programmed extractor for an encrypted archive. The key they give you just unlocks the archive.

Ahhhh, Ok... great. I am hoping this can still be installed on a Win 7 ultimate 64 bit system, otherwise... there goes .57 cents wasted :(:D :D:D

I remember there was a cheat where you could mount all of the weapons and ammo... that was the only way I enjoyed the game once the monsters start to appear and once I had beating it once.

I have a copy of this somehwre, but fifty cents is worth not looking for it. Interested to see thsirun on current hardware.
It runs at like 160 FPS on my PC in sig at 4K. I remember being blown away by this game when it came out. Looks too cartoonish these days. The game itself is shitty, though. I quickly remembered why I stopped playing it. The mutants are dumb and the difficulty ramps up to ludicrous. I just wanted to get through it, though, so I played the escape to the end with god mode.

It's the last official patch that did this. It had a lot of multiplayer specific fixes, but they broke the single player. Installing the AMD64 patch fixes this since it's based on the 1.33 patch instead of 1.4. The game runs much better with the 64-bit patch anyway. You'll want to get the water and LOD fixes, though.

OMG, just jumped on this deal, ty op. I also bought the random steam key at the same time, got Final Slam 2. Only to see after I paid that I already had Far Cry on steam, lmao. Oh well.

Still the best Far Cry game!

All I am going to say is that while I share everyone's love for the first Far Cry game, and even I bought a video card to play Far Cry and Doom 3 at the time... I think it's definitely your guys' rose-colored nostalgia glasses talking when you say that the original Far Cry is the best Far Cry. Far Cry 3, 4, and 5 are objectively better games in almost every way. Far Cry graphically was way ahead of it's time, but to say it's STILL the best Far Cry game is just incorrect.

Blood Dragon is the best Far Cry.

I didn't appoint you to tell me which Far Cry game I thought was the best one.

Funny... I am of the opinion that the Original Far Cry was the best of the series but it seems my opinion is wrong because his opinion says so :)

Sure, all of this is subjective and it really does not matter how the explanation goes or why we feel one is the better one... I could have done without the mutants, yes!

The last time I played this (and first time actually) was either late Win7 or early Win10 and it crashed quite a bit, but I managed to finish it so it must not have been too bad.

Best game in the series to be honest. The rest look prettier by today's standards, but the stories all suck. The original Farcry made you feel like you were stuck in an 80s action movie. Terrible acting included.

2004 this was released, WOW! i am old!

That was a pretty good year for gaming if I recall correctly.

That was the year graphical progress stopped making revolutionary improvements and become much more evolutionary. Farcry, HL2 and Doom 3 still hold up relatively well graphically by today's standards, but if you were to look back at 2000-2003 those games haven't held up nearly as well.

Deus Ex is one of my all time favorite games but dear God it's fucking ugly.

You are right Neo, I used to enjoy playing Ghost Recon and R6 and even though I still have those games, I can't get into them because the graphics are truly dated and it jars me to even start playing them... Played HL2 not to long ago and the graphics were still superb for its age.

I bought it and during the download Bitdefender got in a tizzy...

The application farcry_download.exe accesses a web resource http://download.digitalvgs.com/nnf7846gfnioudODM.html that has been detected as infected. The web resource has been successfully blocked and your PC is now safe.

How much do we know about this company?

They are legit. I was having trouble with my key and they told me, the download may be hindered by antivirus because of how it authenticates. Avast scans all my files as clean.

Mine manually scanned clean as well.

This game has some funky ass non-standard control keys though. I be all confused! It only 'trains' you once on each key too so if you miss it, tough shit.

I uninstalled. Can't say with certainty that it was the installer, but I got one of those Firefox hijacks the day I installed. Was easy enough to bypass, but seemed too coincidental.

Brings back memories. And I am in the camp that the first one was the best one. I remember going for the highest overclock, and tweaking my old 9800 Pro just to get the most out of this game. It was open world, yet still had a linear mission pattern. And it was ahead of it's time in terms of graphics. It was in an era where there was a few "must play" games and this was one of them.

Yep, a remember I got a deal on a 9600 Pro that was mis boxed and sold as a 9600 vanilla. Then I found a great deal on a used 9800 pro here on the forum. Those were fun times for me.

I like when you get dropped out of the helicopter with no weapon in the middle of hungry monsters.
Pretty much just had to run like hell. lol

There were a few other levels that were really tough. On one of them I figured out you could push crates
in front of doors to help block the waves of attackers.

Other levels you just had to keep running and gunning over and over until you got past that level.

Overall a very fun game. I still think about loading it up again every so often.
