Maybe someone can help me here. It is not a big deal but being lazy I would rather not have to benchmark the 3 different thermal pastes I have on hand. I have AS5 which I have had for years still. On top of that I recently purchased a Scythe Mugen 5 and that comes with stock paste and I also still have the stock Cooler Master tube that came with my Hyper 212+ cooler.

Between these 3 pastes which one would you use? I do not care that much but rather than testing and benchmarking all 3 I figured I could ask here first.

Thanks.

I'd use AS5. It is still within 2-3C of the best. Cooler Master has pastes that are slightly better and some that are slightly worse, probably 1C on either side of AS5 depending on which paste the cooler came with. Really the majority of pastes perform within the 4-5C of each other so unless you are chasing every single degree it really does not matter.

+1 for AS5. I would recommend using it over the other two.

I figured it probably makes very little difference. I went with the AS5. I want to use up my AS5 tube anyways.

On a side note, my Scythe Mugen 5 dropped temps to about 66C at full load and basically inaudible from my CM Hyper 212 plus which was around 73-75C and very loud and annoying. (Prime95 small FFTS)

AS5 should also settle in and provide better temps over time. It won't be a huge improvement, but prob a few degrees.

I've been using AS5 forever. i've tried some other stuff but never direct comparisons, but of the 3 listed, i'd stick to the AS5.
