recommend me something under $200

my dad's htc one m7 is trashed. pink camera, and phone shuts off when it connects to wifi. I think its a bad battery, can't output enough power.

anyway I think he just wants to get a new phone. it could be used though. that htc sense skin is not intuitive. something closer to stock android would be easier for him to use. he uses a att mvno

iPhone SE or the Moto G6 Play???

At $200 limit, the recommendations will be highly limited.

A Nokia 6.1 is $230 for example. An Essential was $220 a couple of weeks ago. And a regular Moto G6 is $235.

it doesn't have to be new. I didn't even know there was a new phone for $200

yeah, that list is not good at ALL. The Xiaomi barely works in the US, he doesn't want the HTC skin AND the Desire will barely work in the US, the BLU phones are LOLBLU, and he doesn't want the HTC skin, why would he want the Honor?

There is not a single reason to go with any of those phones over ANY of the ones mentioned on here previously.
 
Sometimes you can get 6-10 month old flagship phones for $200-$300 new if the timing is right. Usually from brands like LG, essential, One Plus. So less established brands, but some great phones sometimes.

I remember seeing an LG V20 for something like $200 from Newegg 8 months after release. Recently I believe the Essential phone was on Prime Day for something like $240. Now people are talking about this Poco Phone F1 or whatever that is. Think its a Huawei Xiaomi. Carrier compatibility can be the killer here though.

I've been getting Amazon "updates" since I browsed for the Nokia 6.1. It can be had around $180. Have to get the US version though if you want AT&T. TA-1045 is the model I think. Downside is only 3GB/32GB compared to 4GB/64GB in the international. I would definitely consider it for the price if they actually do monthly updates with the Android One program.
 
For about $200 you can get a S7 edge or even a first gen Pixel... Both great phones..

I don't think that's a good idea. There is a mint $199 AT&T V20 listing on Swappa. Unlocked. And more mint unlocked for $229. T-Mobile mint unlocked is $199, seller has 937 ratings and it looks like 5 stars or 4.9.
