Russians Say ISS Air Leak was Caused by a Human

Just a few days ago, an air leak on the International Space Station was discovered and promptly fixed. Experts initially believed that the hole was created by a micro-meteorite impact, but Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin claims that the spaceship's hull was impacted from the inside. Dmitry says there are "traces of a drill sliding along the surface," and that the fracture was seemingly caused by human hands. An anonymous source allegedly told the RIA that an employee working on the Soyuz module accidentally drilled the hole, and filled it with glue instead of reporting the incident. It's too early to tell what really happened, but Roscosmos says they aren't ruling out any theories.

"It is a matter of honor for Energia Rocket and Space Corporation to find the one responsible for that, to find out whether it was an accidental defect or a deliberate spoilage and where it was done - either on Earth or in space. Now it is essential to see the reason, to learn the name of the one responsible for that. And we will find out, without fail,"

Regular JB Weld is probably already sufficient for the task.

After all, you can use it to fix a cracked cylinder head, or make an entirely new one if you so chose to.

Seriously though, who ever did this is in deep shit. An honest mistake and accident is one thing, maybe give him some extra training and move on. But attempting to cover it up while leaving the lives of others in danger? I figure that is simply inexcusable.
 
When you control both all the sides even your enemy can help validate the lies.
 
You'd think that they'd color code the interior panels to show which ones are also exterior panels so to prevent someone from making a bone-headed mistake like that.

Yea but you would also think that anyone smart enough to be in a position to drill a hole through the wall of a space station would be smart enough to read diagrams. These are supposed to be some of the best minds on the planet doing this, not exactly a temp summer job Joe got off craigslist
 
IIRC, the hole is in the part that is discarded just before re-entry. Wonder how many other similar modules had holes where the patch held until burn up?

On the one hand, that's absolutely true. On the other hand, that reasoning also caused the loss of the Virgin Spaceship One a few years ago.
 
I know its probably cool and all, but who ever sent up that dart game should have his ass kicked.
