3DMark creator UL Benchmarks has alluded to a new version of Time Spy in September that includes updated support for ray tracing, allowing RTX pre-purchasers to test their cards around the time they are shipped and received. Representatives say the release should coincide with the next big Windows 10 update, Redstone 5.

UL Benchmarks could not yet make public the next iteration of the suite, but they did confirm they are currently developing a ray tracing benchmark (without disclosing exact dates). The release would, then, "align with the launch of Redstone 5", said a UL representative. Redstone 5, or “Windows 10 1809” as it's now known is the Microsoft Fall 2018 OS update and is scheduled to launch in late September.

Why does 3dmark look so cartoony?
And why cover the face with a helmet? Can't make a proper face these days?

who cares about ray tracing?

I certainly don't, at least yet. Can I play at 4k with RT? nope, ok not interested.

As others have said in previous posts, ray tracing is very much akin to AA in early generations of graphics cards. It could technically be done, but with shit performance which made it useless beyond screenshots or controlled demos. Gotta start somewhere, though.

A lot of the reflections looked buggy as shit in this video. Also, what was with the random useless running at the end? Yeah, this one was sort of stupid...

raytracing has got to be the most underwhelming 'feature' to buy the next card refresh.

i can;t really tell the diff between this and Batman:Arkham Knight, Dues Ex and all that. Even the new Tomb Raider raytracing demo is barely distinguishable.

will non 2000 series owners be able to run the new 3DMark ray tracing benchmark?...what's the point?...scores will be so low...secret marketing tactic to get people to upgrade?
