2080ti Availability

Thats a good way to approach it. I sold my 1080ti in anticipation of it. probably would have held it longer. But I got a great deal on rx 580 for 230 out the door lol. Got the Sapphire Nitro+ 8GB. so I am stuck with that for now. I guess I will keep rolling with it until next year since this year is almost over lol. I got free 3 games. pretty much card literally cost me 100 bucks because I was planning on getting the two of those games anyways. i'll see what AMD has next year. I can live without ray tracing for a while I guess.

I thought about that. I had a GTX 980 4gb that I used earlier this year (it was my back up) and with the kind of gaming I do it just doesn't really cut it anymore compared to the 1080ti. So I sold my back up instead and bought another 1070 to mine with that will also be my back up. I'm firmly in the wait for reviews camp at this point but with the price hikes I doubt I buy one.

Pretty sure at no point is it smart to buy one of these, unless you can make money on it. Other than that it's just a hobby.

It's not smart for me to spend $1500 on golf clubs, I do it anyway

Hey come on over to the Ducati and Aprilia forums where you can really burn it much more efficiently in heaps!

If you NEED a card, and HAVE the money, there is nothing inherently wrong with buying this thing. And it is probably better to get if over with so you can enjoy the fall releases.

But I suspect a lot or people are going to be reconsidering whether they need a card based on those prices.

Nvidia will keep rasing prices like Blackstone magic tricks.

Looks like NVIDIA is no longer taking preorders (at least in the US) just as they published their internal benchmarks. Their website is also down for me right now. Looks like people who got in late have a ship date of around mid-November.

No settings or configuration posted, typical Nvidia. I would assume they are running the games at maximum possible settings to get the most out of DLSS. Still pretty decent results but nothing earth shattering. Waiting for some real benchmarks.

I'll just time this up with my new system that I will build in the beginning of the year. Not that I need one but whatever, rollin the same PC for 2 years isn't [H]

Do we have any solid published boost clocks of the FTW3 vs say just the Ultra?
Any guesses on % diff between the two?

Yeah, sucks about newegg if true... amazon it is.

Newegg has gone to shit since the buyout two or two and a half years ago. They don't deserve to be a priority vendor.

I've stopped checking them out almost completely since they started charging tax in my state. Now I go to B&H Photo for all my tax evasion needs.

$1,200 for the RTX 2080 Ti on Newegg and completely sold out on all brands. Wow! I'm so glad I didn't wait to buy my GTX 1080 because the RTX 2080 is out of my price range at $799!

These are the highest base prices I've ever seen from Nvidia. And well, since nobody can beat their high end gpu performance yet, they can charge whatever the hell they want!

$1199, $799, and $599 respectively for the RTX 2080Ti, 2080, and 2070.

Well they are around 50% faster than thier counterpart. This is due to Tensor core ANti Aliasing. They are a significant uptick in performance.

I really think DLSS is the dark horse in this race. Rasterized performance gains will be substantial if the nvidia marketing slides are correct.

It's an RTX feature so as I understand it, 2070 and above have it. Of course the game developer must also implement DLSS.

I want benchmarks just reviews stating noise levels.
Of course the dealers will be yanking panties up to Christmas.

Except there are only 16 games slated to support this magic DLSS so far.

Well I don't know about you but I can only play one at a time. ;)

New feature adoption doesn't happen overnight and I of course concede the fact that DLSS may not see widespread adoption.

Preorder without Benchmarks LOL
play Metro 2033 at 1080P
Jensen leather jacket collection hell I don't even own a leather jacket.

It might be more nVidia side kinda like DSR. I know nVidia needs to analyze the game with their AI supercomputers to generate the code for the tensors to run off of.

Yes, BUT, by the time there is widespread adoption, the card will be superseded by something else. But it begs the question of how much actual performance the early adopter is going to get in non DLSS games compared to previous cards.

Dlss will be here to stay

It uses AI to.implement AA. I think it's going to be stunning.
But it can't be used at the same time as ray tracing. It's one or the other. That sucks IMO. Two new features, but only one can be used.

Are you sure? nVidia lists rt cores and tensor cores seperately and there’s a few games that claim they do both.
It was a friend who told me that, I don't know where he got the info. I will try to confirm it.

I heard something about you from a friend actually now that you say that.

Oh you did ... I bet it something about my mama haha go figure lol

What you didnt find humor in the lyrics of a super popular REO Speedwagon song compared to what you said earlier that reminded me of this.....
