It was a good run for a bit, but I had to shut'em down last night. At less than $0.90/day per 1080ti it's just not profitable.

What to do with a stack of 1080ti's. Might build some budget gaming rigs for my nieces and nephews.

I suspect this weeks drop will recover a bit.

To me right now it is more work trying to sell cards then to leave the rigs mining. I have winter coming, and electric heat......so.....

I'm still making a smidge of profit mining Ethereum at current prices. But I'm just going to hold for now and keep mining for the expected recovery.

Sold one 1070, have another and the 1080Ti's your lucky to make $1/day. The Vega FE's and Vega 64 today was close to $8/day with Ryo (oddball period which will not last) Monero was around $4/day, still profitable but not anything to really brag about.

If there is a coin you have confidence in long term - mine away since $/day only counts when actually sold. If the coin is successful (future wise) time maybe well spent mining. If Bitcoin goes down around 75% from it's high last year like it did in 2014, then the bottom will be around $4000 for Bitcoin. We may have a ways to go before hitting bottom.

Just a heads up, but a 75% decline from ~20k is 5k, not 4k :p

Or consider giving those guys a huge discount when you decide to sell because they typically run them on projects with good causes.

Me too. I just shut off my eight card 1070 rig tonight. The 1000 watts it draws and extra electricity used in the house on A/C isn’t worth $5 gross a day. Probably nearly that in electricity and A/C use at my .14kw/hr summer rate.

Still going here. I am lucky my rate is .03 kw/hr.
whoa that’s cheap. Where do you live?

We get .06 cents in the winter, but .14 in the summer as the highest tier electrical (residential) in Kansas City, Mo.

My rigs are still running. Down to about ~ $,3800 / month with power costing me about $1,200. So a net profit of about $2,600.

Everything is pointing to MPH and is auto exchanging to BTC. I sell some BTC for fiat when it goes above $7k to cover power bill, but mostly I'm just hodl'ing. Nice and simple that way.

The $1,200 power bill includes cooling my house (not where the miners are located) and the offset from Solar. Without the solar offset, my power bill would be $2,000+.

So I'm leaving the lights on for now although I'm looking forward to fall where I can at least leverage a couple of rigs to heat the house again like last winter.

Damn I had to give up mining well over a month ago because of electric costs, it was 17c and now its 18.5c! I didn't make a dime, all a waste of time for me, sucks in MA.

if you're still making $ after paying the electricity bill, keep it running!

I'm mining with two 1070 TIs. built a huge rig with intention of putting 8. Even bought the stuff to make my own wiring harnesses and was going to make an arduino based fan controller for the front intakes that I bought (huge beasts of fans). But at this point I may cut my losses too. Going to keep mining until I decide I need the hardware for something else. Since I only have 2 cards I figure I can try to sell one, and then use the other for gaming. Who knew you could use these things for gaming too? :p I want to at least have 1 full ethereum just to say that I got there. I have not cashed any yet so I'm hoping prices go up at some point then I'll cash in. If cards were not still so expensive I'd consider finishing the rig but at $400+ a pop it makes no sense at this point.

Not too worried about hydro costs since it's all the fixed fees where they get ya, the usage is a tiny fraction of the bill and I'm already running several hundred watts worth of computer equipment. The bigger issue is UPS capacity but I recently bought a dedicated 1500va unit for the mining rig so I'm ok for a while.

I think you should take another look at card prices... 1070tis aren't $400+ anymore. People have been finding 1080s and 1070tis in the low $300s and will get better.

There's the odd deal but the going rate is still quite high. I don't really have the patients to keep hitting refresh on ebay and trying to snipe before others etc.

Look on /r/hardwareswap or /r/minerswap

Here's three 1070tis for $300:

If your goal is to own 1 ETH you could sell one card and just buy 1 ETH. At current prices you might have some cash left over for dinner...

Buying it with cash is harder. I have not found an exchange in Canada that does not want a bunch of personal info like SSN. No way I'm giving that out to a random site. The end goal though is not to HAVE 1eth it's to just mine it. Basically it gives me something to work towards and then from there I can decide if I just stop. Chances are I'll keep going until I decide I want to use the hardware for something else though. I'm at 0.82 right now so not really that far off anyway.

Still mining with one ASIC, now running both 1080Ti's for RVN. They sat quiet for awhile while using the Vega FE's for work and gaming. Looks like some serious pump and dumping going on this week.
